Yeah, because of the way that texture looks, I think it's not used in the game as is. Just like with the bottom menu texture (This one), I think the game must be stretching it or using parts of it for something else. Maybe it'll make a difference somewhere once its retextured, which yes, I will do.

Here's the inventory menu borders. I'll be honest, I really don't think this textures are needed. I replaced them with empty space, and it was much better with them gone, in my opinion. I don't understand why the guys at Monolith even put them there, they're pointless.

Whatever the case, here they are. I toned them down so they'd fit better (still look out of place, if you ask me), but if anyone wants the more vibrant ones, ask away.

Nonsense, more UI parts = more better! Lol :p

Seriously though, I've often wondered about them too. They seem like they're there just for funsies. However we're trying to keep things as close as possible to the regular UI, and they look cool. So might as well use them. They're also used in gem crafting I think, I'll have to check for sure in a little bit here. Maybe they don't look so useless there.

Yeah, I decided to finish them even after realizing they were there just because. And please do check that out! If they are used some place else, then I may need to change them to the more vibrant ones, since these ones may look dull elsewhere.

Edit: Ok, started working on the "I don't even know" texture. Time to get to the bottom of this!

Yup, they're in the gem crafting screen as well. They look exactly the same there, should be fine.

Bighead, pulling up the menu palette and hitting whatever the wiimote button is for pulling up the story memo or whatever will also dump a set of small borders. Another unfortunate discovery this late in the process. Also it appears that the "gray gem shards" that utilize that light gray 40x40 texture that eluded us for a while also have a repeating ID in the menu screen. Well either that or I just found one of the two it needs. I doubt it though.

Ah, alrighty then. I guess there's nothing to do about it if we're staying consistent to the original.

Here is the elusive "Who knows" texture. Maybe something changed somewhere. Who knows.

If you want to do anything "for fun", you're more than welcome to do something for the optional files. But poweredbykimchi has the final say in the matter of what goes into the "main" pack. And if it deviates too much, he'll stick in the optional files anyway. But, I love some of the custom stuff. I'm having a blast with Narcku's monado textures.

Haha, awesome on that texture. Gotta love texturing things when you don't even know where it shows up.

Updated the icons I made so far before I start on the next one, wasn't happy that they were varying sizes. I lost the project file for the monado so it was remade, but it's essentially the same icon only bigger with a few small changes. It had to be blurred heavily to look correct in game or the edges were very jagged, I am uploading a non-blurred version to see what I'm talking about. Reyn's gunlance is just a bigger version, with the legend of zelda type border around the shield a bit wider to look correct at this size, it had to have a slight blur to not distort that. No change to the staff, it's already looking good. The twin blades had some lighting changes that I like better, and a slight blur.

Edit: Added Riki's plant staff thing. I didn't like working on this, his weapon has always creeped me out. I used elements from the original icon and his in game weapon. Like almost all the other ones, it needed to be blurred to look correct or the edges were jagged.

Edit: Thinking about the combat arts book status effect, since the gothic looking book is overkill, I also see no reason to just use the medium shaded book for the "main pack" for it. I'm personally going to use the sick looking one, but the medium toned gray book fits it nicely. I included it as an attachment, it has some weird dimensions compared to the other icon skill books.

Also, regarding that mismatched skill book. Maybe we can do something like this?

They don't match the original icons, but the 2nd going to the 3rd didn't either. It looks like it originally goes: stack of papers, very thin paperback book, fat hardcover book. So the above image only makes sense unless we find new icons for 1 and 2 altogether. I'm including them as attachments as well. I made the medium shaded book a bit darker, and cleaned out that weird border under all of them.

Obviously none of it is set in stone, just offering suggestions and seeking opinions.

Edit Again: Or, maybe just change all the icons altogether and make it look like this?

So tl;dr use the blurred Monado if our resolution is 2x or below, correct?

I tried playing around with monado's beam color and got this Tongue

Edit 3: I didn't get what you meant by mismatched arts book before. I say 2 is better Smile
Edit 4: Bad news. It seems that we shouldn't recolor that middle part of the beam. The middle part of the beam should stay white, otherwise when Shulk swings the monado, the sword trail(white color) won't match the beam. It's only noticeable when the monado is swung(it just makes it ugly) but otherwise it's fine.

Use it no matter what, the non-blurred one is just there so you can make the comparison yourself if you want to or just take my word for it. Even at 4x IR the blurred one looks much better. The game doesn't scale them down very good, but when they are blurred it helps. I'd just downscale them, but melia's staff looks better at the higher IR, and the others look no different than downscaled, just need to be blurred.

That looks pretty sweet, it looks closer to a light sabre haha. Gonna have to try these out.

Edit: The alternate set for the arts menu in this post as not to confuse with the multi-shaded books.

First of all, seeing those weapon icons all lined up is awesome. I love them, and it's surprising how fast you're cranking them out. We might just have to start calling you Echoes v2.0 pretty soon here :p.

Seriously, though. They look really good. I can see what you mean about the blur effect. I like the sharpness of the clear ones a lot, but yeah, some of the edges look bad (just the nature of the beast) without the blur. I'll have to check them out in game to be sure, but I'm guessing they must look much better with the blur effect overall. If you're too concerned about it, you can always include the unblurred weapons as optional textures. But should probably let people know that they can appear jaggy as well or something.

The skill book icons all look good. I'm still going to use the fancy book too, but yeah, probably should include it in the pack as an optional texture. Good call. Going to update what I have with your cleaned up textures. On a side note, maybe check out all of the quest menu icons (when you get time or need a break from making crazy awesome weapon icons) and see if any of them need to be cleaned up at all. I made them all so I'm sure they need to be touched up somewhere.

On the dumping side of things, I just found like 18 new main menu sets and their friends last night before I went to sleep :p. So, yeah. Crazy. I have all of these different theories, but the more I dump the more it seems like I'll never get them all, haha. But... I'm going to get as many as I can.

On a later playthrough I'm going to get as many "affinity screen leaving" clock dumps as a I can, as well as some story memo borders from the menu palette pop-up thing. However, this next playthrough is going to be a lot slower (my current game is going so slowly just because I'm stopping every 2 minutes and saving/reloading/gem trick/affinity screen reloading for an hour or two getting all of the dumps) and I'm not going to be checking constantly for things. I kind of want to play it "normally" and see how much untextured stuff shows up while not going out of my way to look for them.

So yeah, people are just going to have to deal with the story memo borders being untextured for the first half of the game :p. At least for a while, probably not before the next update. After my next playthrough I'll probably want a break from playing the game (you can only dump for so long), and I think I might practice some PS work for a while and see if I can learn a few things.

Those three new icons are totally freaking sick dude. Wow. Yeah, use those. No question about it.

What are you going to do about the in combat book that pops up?

@Narucku - Nice dude. I'm going to check them out. Do those textures effect all Monados, or just the first one? Nevermind, I expanded the picture and saw the Monado II. Going to assume they use the same textures.

I kept all story quest borders since I started dumping, but I'm probably missing the earliest ones. I might do a rushed playthrough to grab some of them before release (run speed cheat, lvl 99).
