Yeah, honestly I'm not sure about letting random people do the retexturing themselves. I'm afraid of someone messing up the batching process. At least if we end up with some funky mess, we know that it was probably you or I that screwed something up. But, yeah, the dumping and submitting to be retextured thing sounds really good. Besides making mistakes, someone could also troll us on purpose with misnamed files. Hell, I guess people could even do that with just dumps.

And that script sounds really complicated to me. But if you can make it work, there's no point in making two different downloads if someone could just run a script to organize it for them. This sucker is going to be huge, uploading/hosting two of them could be annoying.

Haha. Going to have to use up an entire page for all of Echoes' borders and various UI additions. You actually did a lot too, now that I'm looking at it. Not that I didn't already know it, but you're right that it's impressive when it's all just there for you to see at once. I like the collage idea.

Also, that collage made me remember something... I was doing a heart 2 heart, and the big single heart that pops up was weird. I had a screenshot of it but I might have deleted it on accident with a few other screenshots I got rid of. It was sort of short and wide, kind of like it was stretched out horizontally. I don't know if you can replicate it in your game, but when I get some time I'll try for some comparison shots. I'm not sure if it's even your texture that is doing it, or if it's supposed to be like that, or if it's a problem on my end.

You make a good point there, best to keep this mass renaming script out of public hands lol. If someone really wants to do it, they can figure it out or ask one of us for it. And yeah I see no way the filtering one could cause any harm.

It won't be too complicated, actually simpler than the renaming/moving to folders one. It will just be really really really really long. There's a program to convert it to EXE and give it an icon so people can't mess with or see the long ugly code. Tongue

Also, I think the "Large" texture is what we should use as suggested by Echoes. On my 27inch 1080p monitor it looks great, and I'm sure higher resolutions will prefer the bigger one as well.

Also, here's a remake of the first gem crafting bar I did. I like this one much better, I used the same techniques as the latter 2.

Edit: And of course, what post of mine would be complete without taking down my original attachment and replacing it with another....

Okay, I went back and looked at them again. I got mixed up between my screenshots. I have a 27in 1440p monitor, and the larger one does look better. More sharp and clear, I don't know why I thought it was the smaller one. It makes no sense anyway, I'm totally spent and still up trying to dump files.

You can really see it in the golden circles. It's hard to see from the pics, but in game is sort of noticeable. You have to really look though. So yeah, stick with the bigger, darker one then.

I'll roll with it in my game, see how it looks. That one shot of him from the front looks weird, but the other ones look good. (I got the DL before you took it down, I'll just take out the eyes for now.)

Also, I need a silver monado II texture ASAP. :p I've been running with your silver texture and it's going to be sad when I finally have to go back to red.

Another thing: did you ever see if that one hair/bandana texture I added as a thumbnail was in fact Dixon's hair? I'm about to run into him shortly here, but I haven't progressed very far in my game lately due to backtracking for dumps.

Yeah, I accidentally saved the eyes into Fiora's ID.
Better take that one out, and replace it back again with Red_Schism's.

The darker, higher res one, actually. When it comes to resolution, higher is usually better for future proof.

Yeah, I didn't even put the textures in my folder yet. So no, worries. Thanks for the heads up.

I'm pretty sure Dixon has another hair piece somewhere. Last time I saw him it appeared as if some of his hair wasn't textured. I don't know, maybe it was a repeat ID. I'll pay more attention when he pops back in my game as well as any dumps. I've gotten a little better at watching my dumps as the game loads stuff.

Haha, honestly I don't know if I even have anything else for you to do. I would really like the minimap/clock frame to be redone to brown to match the original UI better, as opposed to the metal look the retextures use now. After that, yeah. Out of UI stuff. (Which is good! Yay!)

And, yeah. I know. I had a derp moment. I actually included (edited a previous post) some screenshots comparing them in 1440p and you can see the bigger texture is a little more sharp and clear.

Thanks! I'll try to get to making icons for them sometime soon. I'm trying to learn how to use PS atm, it's pretty overwhelming. But I'm starting to see how Echoes creates some of those insanely awesome textures. Wink

Good luck! I need a lot practice with both, haha. I mostly have used GIMP, but I have some friends who have been telling me to get photoshop forever. Maybe I'll experiment a bit after we get v5.0 out.

I'm starting to get the hang of some stuff, but honestly... I feel like they went out of their way to make some of this stuff difficult and frustrating to figure out. Like, just to manipulate the paths in this it takes all kinds of combinations of shift, alt, and control. It's like trying to remember the fatalities in mortal kombat (...so to fill in this area, press up, up, left, right, left, right, down, right a+b while holding x and y).
