I don't think there is a recommended limit to texture dimensions/file sizes as long as it's reasonable.

There is a limit imposed by the GPU capabilities. Take a look at the "Max Texture Dimension" row in this overview to get an impression of these limitations. Note that the colums refer to the actual GPU capabilites and not the D3D backend used.
Using bigger textures than supported will result in either the custom texture not being used (using the native texture instead) or the texture showing up black. (Not quite sure which one is the case)

When making text textures and portraits, I go with 3X - 5X the original size. There shouldn't be any problem with textures bigger than that though.

Also, does anyone know what font Alekzanderk used for the "Chicos" folder(texture SX4P01_2e290bbc_2, for example)? I thought it was Arial, but that's not it.

I was going to release an update to the English textures and to the HD portraits, but some stuff got in the way. I'll update soon enough.

I just realized there's no wiimote retextures. >_> I must be the only one using a wiimote.

Anyway, once Echoes uploads his English Text retexture pack, I'll release v4 which should include a lot of small changes but no big ones.

One more notice about v3.2U pack - I think you are missing "Ether mine" map screen-shot (SX4P01_25b5a47c_14.png) in "SX4P01\02 - General User Interface (UI)\01 - General Menu\01 - Maps" folder.

I found out it hard way - with my "Anti-Ultimate-ICC" v3.0-750 buld Dolphin is crashing when I'm trying to browse Main Menu->Area Maps. Crash is repeatable only in case of right after entering that level from Colony 6 "Drainage outlet" landmark. It does not crash when that SX4P01_25b5a47c_14.png exist. Crash could be that specific build issue however.

It's not the build. I came across the problem as well with lectrode's build. I took it out because it wasn't retextured but I'll add it back in. Thanks for reminding me.

Esa Imagen no la tengo por lo cual no puedo acceder nuevamente a esa area y asi poder sacar un screenshot, si alguien tiene una partida en la cual pueda acceder a esa area se los agradeceria para completar las images del mapa

Is anyone's Ether Mine REALLY messed up when you turn on the custom textures? I'm getting artifacts in Ether Mine, but simply turning it off the custom textures fixes it. Free Looking also tends to mess it up too whether customs textures is turned on or not.

This only happens in Ether Mine. I have a feeling it has to do with that one picture... but I don't see how that picture can mess up everything. If I remember correctly, when the picture wasn't there, the game would crash even if I don't load up the maps screen. I guess the map has to be the same size as the other maps? >_> So confusing.

I tested this at stock GPU clocks.

Alright, here's the update.

-Made Skill Names. They are more accurate to the game now, as well as of a higher res than the old ones.
-Big change to the textures previously found in the"Chicos" folder (small fonts). I edited and aligned them so the letters and numbers don't have awkward spaces in between or are bigger than others when displayed in game. The range of the outer glow isn't so big anymore and they are also lower res than before (from 256x256 to 200x200). The reason for this is that they were being down-scaled by the game (even at 1080p 4X IR and 4SSAA) and this caused them to look aliased/jaggy. They should look much smoother now.
-Added texture "SX4P01_20737117_2." This one is part of the textures mentioned above and it's necessary for English.
-Organized textures by folders so it's less confusing.
-Took out the "menu icons" and "bonus" folders since they weren't updated and are already included in poweredbykimchi's pack anyway.
-Fixed/edited/remade a couple of other textures that you may or may not notice. Tongue

I wanted to make the main menu text too, but that'll have to wait till later.
