So I've been taking a break from dumping every once in a while to try and mess with my own textures. One that that has bothered me a little is the main menu bar.

The default texture:

The texture from the HD texture pack:

Notice that the new bar is missing the little metal spheres? Well I tried to add them into the new bar, since it's resolution is obviously better and came up with this:

I don't know if that would be an improvement or not. I lack the photoshop skills I think to make it look perfect. But just throwing it out there.

@TonyDaiz

I see you're trying to be more "authentic" but having no iris doesn't look right. I think what you're seeing is instead them trying to do a "shine" on the eyeball itself.

@frozenwings

Both implementations don't have the "shine" on the orbs. They should look like they're popping out, since the original obviously looks like there is light and shadow cast on them.

Yeah you're right, and I tried to give it more of a 3d pop out effect and it just looked worse. I think I just need more practice.

I already thought of that possibility, so I checked the image files and original cutscenes, and the original Sharla does not have an iris.
About it not looking right, it's a matter of opinion, as the black iris didn't look good to me. Anyway, at least I don't think the iris in the pack should be so dark, so instead of black it could be a dark brown.

If you want the eyes to look closer to the original, there should be a little more black and a smaller hole.

So Echoes contributed an HD pack of affinity screen icons, and there was group icon just labeled "Five Characters." I'm guessing no one had the dump since it's the only group shot missing from the hd texture pack. Well here it is with the correct ID:

Obviously, credit goes to Echoes for the image.

I made these quest menu screen / quest pop-up screen icons , although they probably still need a bit of polish. They actually look good in game.

I've also included the originals, in case they're any help.

So, tonight I dumped something new that I hadn't seen before:

[Image: 30xcxmq.png]

Turns out you get new skill tree bars when you unlock the 4th and 5th skill trees, which I never did when I played through the first time. I played right when the game came out in Europe, and never used a guide. So I just barreled through the story and beat the game. This time, I'm using a guide so I just got Shulk's 4th tree last night.

No one ever made an HD retexture of that bar either, at least there were none in the pack. So I kind of shopped one together using these two parts already provided in the HD pack:

[Image: 2vimhl0.png]

And got:

[Image: nlv77a.png]

I don't know who uploaded the original HD skill tree bars, but I hope they don't mind me using their work to fill in some other spots in the game in order to keep up consistency.

My only problem now is that I could have been dumping those textures the entire game with the rest of the skill tree textures, and I haven't been since I didn't have them unlocked. Sad

Here's something new after a long time.

I just realized I still need to fix the edges.

EDIT: I added the new one below, dunno if the edges are nice enough though.

Yay, the big bag!

Looks great (minus the edges, which you pointed out).

Edit: Looks perfect now. It will be a lot smaller in game, so the tiny imperfections on the inside of the edge shouldn't show up. Don't forget that there are two IDs for this one image; one for the menu screen and one for after battle drop.

I'm going to test it out right now, going to play a bit tonight.

Edit again: I found that increasing the canvas by 10% has it looking really good in game. In effect, it makes the image itself 10% smaller and it makes the inside edges look better (almost undetectable, unless you get close), and it fits in the tile better as well.

Increasing the canvas like that should give a small anti aliasing effect, so naturally it'd look better. Tongue
