NM I think I've replicated it somehow. I ran it one more time after that and the very first thing it says is "Access is denied" when trying to rename the folder. Windows is a flawed OS that's for sure. I've never seen this happen before now, I think it has something to do with the bug involving the thumbnail cache, like when you try to delete a file it says "This file is in use" although it is not. Something similar is happening here when it's trying to rename the folder at the start. This is a pretty big problem so unfortunately I'll probably take down the current packs until I can get this fixed. If it comes down to it, people might just have to rename the folder manually at the end. It's better than this shit not renaming 10000's of files.

Edit: Matter of fact, I'm just going to make it easier altogether and scrap the whole convert back and forth stuff. Save me the headache, it was pointless anyway. I just get carried away.

Ok, I was starting to think I was just doing something stupidly wrong or overlooking something obvious.

I'd still be interested, though, if those textures were all loading for you. I've now tried DX9, D3D (aka DX11) and OpenGL. All the same result. I also tried unchecking costum texture loading and re-checking it.
I dunno, maybe it's just my gfx card not being able to handle so many textures but I guess then it would just crash the emulator or something. Also it's mostly small HUD textures missing while the big world textures (except for those transitions) and the maps are loading just fine (and even without any performance hit).

Yeah every texture in the pack loads for me regardless of the video backend. I haven't tested the DX9 version yet, I will try to here in a bit and let you know if I'm having an issue with it, just trying to stressfully get this other stuff worked out real fast. Still gotta sit through 2 more compressions afterwards and 4 more uploads...

No stress - actually, there's no need to test DX9. The other two backends have the same result here, so it must be something else... I just have no idea what...

What is this stuff narcku? There's still time to add it to the pack since I'm still fiddling with the renaming crap. I got it down mostly so I'm ready to compress soon.



Okay then, everything is good now. The bug doesn't seem to be happening anymore, but just in case, it now attempts to rename the folder at the end instead of the beginning. It will definitely happen if someone is navigating the folder at the time because of the way windows handles thumbnails. I really can't do much about that. I have included a note in the ReadMe that states that if "Access Denied" comes up at the end, the folder will have to be manually renamed. I am now recompressing everything and will reupload the packs shortly.



Ok PNG pack is currently uploading to both Mega and Mediafire. I'm going to try to experiment more the the DX9 Final build of Dolphin. I played with a bit while I was compressing stuff and I couldn't even get it to load with PNG textures without crashing just before the "Readng Disc" screen. I'm going to try the DDS versions now once they are done copying. I have a theory as to why the DDS versions are screwing up, but I'm not certain. Tino told me to create them with mipmaps, which could be why they are not loading correctly in some places. I don't know if that would affect anything or not. The more I think about it, it's kind of a waste to generate mipmaps for most UI textures because you only ever see them from a single distance anyway, and its most likely why the current DDS pack is almost 2GB larger than the PNG pack.

EDIT: I just tested DX9 Final, build Ishiiruka.1730483.x64 with the DDS pack and everything is loading fine in every backend. I'm not sure what you're doing wrong StripTheSoul or why the the textures are not loading for you. This is still the Europe version, I'll test the USA version next and see if the problem is still happening.

EDIT 2: Nope, you did nothing wrong StripTheSoul, I can sadly confirm that almost next to no paletted textures load on the USA version. Dolphin is dumping completely different IDs... WOW is all I can say. Right off the bat there was an untextured Dunban portrait, now im Colony 9 and not one single repeating texture is retextured. I already dumped 4 Shulk portraits in less than 10 minutes. That is so disappointing. This means if USA versions were dumped, this texture pack would near 200K files....


Unrelated, I noticed Windows 8.1 is really buggy, but my guess is other versions are just as bad. I right clicked both packs and went to properties, and it was reporting that the PNG had about 30 more files than the DDS. I manually searched through every folder and this is not true, everything lines up. Sometimes using the search also doesn't give results, or gives old results, or all kinds of weird stuff. Microsoft, you fail.

Hmm, really strange... do you have an AMD gfx card?
If all textures wouldn't show I guess that would tell me I did something wrong, but it's only those few... I wouldn't know anything else I could try.
As long as it's just me, though, you needn't concern yourself with this. Especially since you've got other stuff to do Smile
Maybe someone else will try it these days and have the same issues. That might give us a clue then.

I don't think so, I'm not sure though. I've never tried to import saves across regions. I guess I could try that now and I'll update this post with my results.

Edit: Well that didn't take long, it does work! You just right click the game in dolphin, open save folder, copy the monado files to the other version's save folder.
Edit: Still kinda disappointing though. At this point you never even know if it's worth dumping the whole game over again. If custom textures ever get worked on in Dolphin, then all this is null and void anyway, and will have to be redumped yet again. It's hard to know what the best course of action is.
Edit: And yes, your post below mine. I'm using my europe save files in usa version right now. Running around NG+ atm. Tongue No retextured repeating textures.
