I played little bit around with Google SketchUp again. So 2 textures were improved.
1st - story memo and loot title backgrounds are using same texture. 2nd one is menu status text background at the bottom of the screen. This time I tried to match with game overall colour palette.

In both cases those textures will be on screen very frequently during play.

Edit: Oops, I forgot initially shadows. Now added.

Edit2: It turns out that that status bar texture ID is unique for every level. Also I think there is something wrong with Dolphin dump texture functionality. It does not dump always all textures. A went trough all 13 levels I have access so far but still did not manage to get all file IDs.

Try doing it during different times of the day.

I like the retexture btw, and I'm finally almost done with the game. Big Grin

Day and night - OK!
Quite an hassle. I need to finish game first then in order to dump all possible variations.

Still that "Story memo/loot box" title screen texture SX4P01_4be1772a_8.png can be used. Original texture is very pixelated so it should improve look.

I'll be busy for about the next 3 months and won't be next to my personal computer that contains all the retextures. This means that I probably won't compile another pack until December. Said that, I'll release one more pack before I go off. So if you want something in the next pack, either upload it here or PM it by [color=#FF0000]September 22nd[/color].

While I did finish the game just yesterday (and dear God what a beautiful game), I will be back some time in December to compile and retexture things again.

I am not leaving the project and I will still help out people in this thread as I will have access to a substitute computer.

I just added one final touch to loot/story memo window screen title - a little bit of bloom/glow effect so it's now more in line with corners look.

No problem, and nah, I'll return whether you like it or not or else someone else is going to have to make another thread and it'll get hectic again. Tongue

I need to replay this game from beginning to end on new game+ with all the retextures anyway.




EDIT: Some stuff came up and I couldn't upload the next update in time. However, I am done compiling and editing the pack so I'll be able to upload it this weekend because I'll be able to use my personal computer once more.

Here's the changelog if you just want to see it:

I took etking's advice and I tried doing a "preselected" pack while keeping the alternatives in a different folder. So I'm hoping installation will be much easier and more user friendly. The root folder should have almost everything except the "Text" and "Other" retextures. So a simple copy/paste should do.

Since I'm pretty wordy, if anyone who is concise with words wants to rewrite the installation directions, feel free.

Hey guys,

I've been playing around with the texture packs, and while I can most of them to work, I can't seem to get the basic menu textures (such as the Wii console save icon) to work. Does this have to do with the fact that there are many duplicate files in this pack?

There are duplicate textures because one image is used many times in the game depending on where you are. The duplicate files aren't causing the problems; they are actually fixing it, but we have yet to dump all possible texture IDs from the game involving the basic menu textures because there are just so many.

I have been trying to get my affinity up in order to get Shulk 4th skill three quest and I noted that affinity icons are still very low 34x34 pix res. So I dumped textures in order to get file IDs and reused already existing high res avatars. I also replaced area icon with bigger icons. So here is outcome - upper one is original and below it is new one:

Same character Icons are in use in battles when you encourage / revive your teammates which in effect will add hearts to affinity.
