Well it's only like a total of like 16 extra textures between the two characters I dumped faces/hair/eyes from the scene.

Narcku, if you're still alive and have any interest, I have a pack here you might want to check out. If not, we have them for the future if need be.

Characters are (story spoilers):

Zanza and Meyneth

File is called hairandeyes, but it's actually hair, eyes, and faces so no one has to pick them out of the current pack or find them themselves.

Also, at least half of the files are duplicates. Reason for two sets are noted above.

Ok I finally replicated it for just about every single UI texture. Smile
This may explain why that one guy about 20-40 (60?) pages back was getting different IDs for almost everything. I'm so happy you discovered this. Now both scenarios can be accounted for.

EDIT: It's also not the "rare" versions I was expecting. Tongue I'm now getting "3" of a lot of these textures that already had duplicates.

Yeah, there were a couple hours of confusion before I finally came to this conclusion though. Set me back a bit, but at least we learned something useful.

Yeah, who knows. It's still pretty confusing :p

Anyway, the med border thing:

This is what I have (before messing with your stuff):
Corners - 493
Bot/Top - 499
Left/Right - 490

Here's what I got from your pack:

Corners 17 new
Top/Bottom Side 25 new
Left/Right sides 27 new

I didn't actually combine anything yet, and I also have some stuff to batch soon. Looks like I have two sets in there that conflicts with yours, so subtract two from everything above. So out of the 500ish sets that I have, you found 20-25 that I didn't. I don't know if that's good or bad :p.

So, should I toss yours into mine then? Are they already batched with your fixes?

Yeah they are already batched with the fixed borders. It will throw your almost perfect collection further out of whack though, so that is up to you.
EDIT: Also, the sets that I found that you probably didn't come from a strange way of finding them. Most of those probably came from my search for gem crafting mega heats. I would go somewhere like colony 6, craft a game at the door to bionis leg, then go to bionis leg and craft a gem. This brought up completely new menu palette textures as well in many different areas.

Yeah, that's actually similar to what I do on my backtracking runs. But there's no way for sure to know if you got them all. I usually just keeping doing it until I go a few sweeps with no IDs. But, since it's random, yeah. You don't know if you have them all. Obviously, I did not :p

I think I'm going to wait until the "big merge" to mix our stuff together.

I'm going through and trying to collect all these duplicate textures... I don't even know why. For all I know this is just a single generation out of possibly 100's we haven't even discovered yet. This damn OCD and desire to collect can drive me stir crazy sometimes. I may just be a masochist after all.

Nah, dude. I'm consumed by OCD as well. But I can only dump so long before I get bored.

I honestly wouldn't bother getting the repeat IDs until we merge. I'd focus on finishing your game and your maps. Let me handle the duplicate hunting for now. I mean, why have us both work on something when we're still going to be bottlenecked by how fast you can get your maps done and your game complete.

I say we finish what we're already doing, merge our files, sort everything out into the same folders / get rid of duplicates. Then since we'll both be on the same "playing field" (I obviously have way more IDs at this point), you won't be wasting your time dumping sets that I've already done.

Yeah good idea, I'm setting this dump folder aside for now. There is just way too many textures. Every single texture has a duplicate, and I mean every single one. Arts icons, UI bars, boxes, bubbles, gems, text, circles, icons, literally everything. This is a few days work and it's most likely not even necessary.

Wait, do you mean the duplicate textures dumped from when the "load custom textures" option turned off? I thought you were talking about the duplicate sets that I've been dumping. (_9 textures or whatever)

Yeah.I think those IDs are probably going to be a waste of time. I mean, I've never run into duplicate UI, boxes, gems ever and we only have one of most of them. Chances are it's useless because they're never going to load since they only dump when the "Load custom textures" box isn't check. Defeats the purpose, imo. Unless there's something I'm missing.

Yep it's definitely a waste of time. Tongue I was thinking about this all wrong. What should be done is eventually figure out what textures that we have are duplicates from this process, and remove them (but keep backups). If nothing is ever untextured, then we know there was no reason to have them. There are not too many duplicate textures, and it wouldn't be hard to find the common ID, but you're right I should make finishing the maps my top priority. It's just rough to stay focused on that when it feels like there's so much that can be done at all times.
