Meh, sorting isn't so bad. Just have to double check everything. Eventually we'll just have everything and not have to sort through crap anyway. :p

And sorry about the early map! For some reason I just thought you missed it. :p

It's np, it just saves me from stumbling onto it later. The reason I have the original Mechonis Core map in the first place is because I used moon jump to get to the top layer in central factory and the warp was active so I took it. I seen the map was just a ring and a brick so I figured meh, may as well do it now. It was just an empty room. I'm currently at the very end of Agniratha just about to take that warp to fight that "one guy" we kept hearing about. I'll probably do some actual playing here in a bit.

Ohh okay. For some reason I thought were using dumps from an earlier playthrough or something for your maps, mostly it was you having the Mechonis Core map done that threw me off :p

I'm redoing the mechonis core events over and over, seems to be quite a few IDs in there I missed before. There's also a bunch of extra goodies I'm getting repeat dumps for like the story quest pop ups. Also theres a couple vision monster IDs (one for Bionis and one for Mechonis, I also snagged the circle icon from the vision and I'm going to work on that as my side project for the day.) Also I'm running into a lot of the skill tree missing pieces now (center-left, center-right). So that tells me I have a lot of sub-menu IDs (and gem trick IDs) coming my way.

The way I see it, the gem trick IDs are generally "second to fourth tier" IDs, meaning that you aren't typically going to see them unless you're stopping to craft/check your affinity screen. So a lot of them may never even be used since it requires you to be a certain area with a certain ID set doing a specific action in order to bring them up. But, we'll have them just in case.

Did that small map real quick and updated my xenoblade page a bit, also put a fancy new logo on there. If you still have access to the mechonis core and get to it before I do, let me know how the accuracy is on the "grooves" that stick out where the old floor was. I just kinda guessed, although it probably doesn't really matter.

Also what is the status of your medium borders, do you finally have an even set? With all the fiddling with medium borders I lost some along the way...I was careless, tired, and frustrated when I worked on them both times, and I think I deleted some by accident because I kept them away from my normal batch folders. Now my sets are so uneven I don't even want to keep them. I'm going to send you all the medium borders I have, and you can see if I have any that you don't and see if it throws off the balance. I'm hoping you have every single one of these.

I will check these out in a little while and let you know. I'm kind of trying to figure something out atm.

I think the game dumps different sets of IDs depending on whether or not you have Load Custom Textures enabled or not. I'm dumping IDs (with load custome textures off atm) for static images that don't match up with anything we have right now.

That could be maybe where those "rare" versions come from. I'm going to test this myself. If this is really the case, then, well, that could be a problem. But on the bright side, if it dumps them with load custom textures unchecked only, then anyone using the pack will never come across them anyway.

Edit: I'm going to put story spoilers here, even though I know we've all beaten the game. In case anyone new comes in I don't want them to glance and see anything. So, if you're new to the game, better to just skip this post.

Yup. This looks to be the case. I was trying to dump all of END GAME SPOILERS

face, eye and hair textures in case our resident face/hair specialist wanted to give him a go. But since his face is aleady in the faces folder (batch sharpened with the rest of the non-playable characters) and he

, it was heard to tell. So I just turned of load textures for a cutscene to dump everything. Come to find out that none of the faces dumped matched anything in our load folder, however I didn't dump any on my previous views of the cutscene, so I knew he was there.

So I turned on load textures and just removed everything from my folder and restarted. Sure enough, dumped the same IDs that we have currently in our pack. So yeah, that's a thing and is probably why a bunch of things have duplicates. People probably testing their work with load textures on/off and end up dumping two. Something to keep in mind when dumping new textures, make sure you have load custom turned on.

I'm unable to replicate this behavior... The only thing I seen dump twice so far is landmark. Is there anything special I should try? Maybe reload the game with it off?

Edit: In any case, we should keep any duplicates we do happen to stumble on, and if possible find the remaining ones. Since it's usually only "2" of everything, there's no harm in having both just in case. But what's odd, is some textures actually have 3, so there may be an unknown variable at play that generates yet another ID.

Edit 2: And in the case of the texture I linked, it actually has 4.

Yes, maybe that's it. I loaded the game with both load custom textures and dump textures off. Then turned on load textures after I was loaded into the game. I'm going to try again as well and see if I can replicate it.

Edit: Yup, just replicated it again. Dumped the same set as before. Should I hold onto both sets of hair/faces then? I don't see the point of the "load off" textures being saved if you can't actually load the IDs with the option off anyway. This whole thing seems really bizarre to me. I'll just keep them just in case.

These I'm not sure about. I don't really keep track of them (nor want to), only what narcku uploads. There just might be that slim chance that they may come up with load custom texures checked so there's no harm in it.

For UI elements, I say keep every single one. They won't add much space, and there is a chance they can show up without that (glitch?). A lot of the textures I found duplicates of, I'm almost certain they came up with custom textures enabled such as the gem crafting text (I never once entered that screen with it disabled), and a lot of the stuff in the various maps and minimap folders.

Edit: I'm still unable to replicate this behavior for any UI elements except that "Landmark" text came up twice in the beginning. I tried everything conceivable to try to get duplicates of anything that we do have duplicates of (title screen text, logo, map/minimap elements, quest stuffs, gem crafting text, some of that junk in the UI-Misc folder), and I'm failing. Are you having any luck finding these types of things? I keep getting the same common ID no matter what. But I do want to add I'm seeing a lot of environment textures and faces (not sure if dupes), so maybe it affects them more than anything.

Edit 2: Like some stuff even has 3, like the pickaxe, the door arrow thing, the map cursors.. and still.. only getting 1 version.
