I decided to try my hand at modifying an armor texture.
Still working on it though.

Image on the left is before and image on the right is after.

Looks really good, but retexture the whole set of armor for each character would be one hell of work.

That looks amazing. That fabric really looks like fabric and the metal areas have some nice shine to them. But as cloudalmasai mentioned, doing all of them would be quite a lot of work. I hope you can keep up the good work.

That's fantastic work RyviusRan. But yeah like cloudalmasai already mentioned that would be titanic amount of work to re-texture all armour variations.

I made some experiments of my own. I learned over past 2 evenings on very basic level how to use Google SketchUp. lol.
Here is outcome. First try - don't be to harsh...

I'm pretty happy about corners, but not sure about title background.

Edit: v2 looks better with tiny golden ring & shadow

Btw. While testing various dialog windows I just realised that for example when you are loading game each level has unique dialog windows texture ID-s despite the fact that they look exactly the same.

With a save or savestate near the end of the game, with at least one sets of each armor, will be easy the dumb proccess, but retexture them is another things.

I tried a quick patchwork on the weapon texture just to see how it would come out.

I still have work on it.

And I do notice there are a lot of textures for armor/clothing and weapons.

You've made an fantastic profi work on armor and weapon!
You used hi-res overlay texture on a weapon? And sweater, i suppose. And redraw.. many things.
Super!

Game shines with your textures)
keep up a good work! Smile

Yah I wanted to keep the textures looking close to the original just with more detail so overlaying another texture is what I found to be the best.

I still have to work out some kinks in those textures.

Thats a clever idea. I didn't think about this before. I want to give a try now.
What instruments do you use to redraw the armor/cloth? Brush.. maybe some HDR filters?
heh, your work impressing and inspiring me Smile
