I also attached the new party box to my last post that we're going to use (or a version of) in the next big update in case you wanted to see how it lined up. It still looks pretty bad, I think Dunban and Sharla are the worst though, Melia is right behind them. I'll talk to bighead and see what we'll do. If the IDs for the party screen are static, we can just dump the party screen without textures loaded then fish them out of their portrait folders and put the "party screen" portraits in their own special folder. Or maybe just the menu_party folder? Edit: If you decide to do the minimap frame, Echoes, you could probably make them for these two (only two copies of the same texture, unique IDs) then maybe resize them for the smaller minimap (has tons of repeating IDs)? I think they're basically the same thing, only at different scales. This texture is used in the Change Time screen in the menu. The minimap thing that's on the screen all the time uses two parts that seem to be made up of this big texture, if that makes sense. The files attached are obviously retextures, I don't have the originals dumped at the moment. If I just confused the hell out of you let me know and I'll upload the dumps of all of the files. Lol, I'll have to batch these in the morning. I'm about to head off to bed here in a second. Hit a HUGE pool of new IDs on mechonis' sword and it depressed me. I need to take a break in order to preserve my own sanity.
And, yes, that batch script in such a huge life saver. I don't know how I would do this without it. It would take at least four or five times as long doing it the way I was before.

I noticed it's imperfect at all IRs by one vertical row of pixels, so something is off that I'm not seeing. Everything else is perfect, every border + corner blends 100%.EDIT: Finally nailed it. I had to do some trickery and add a row of pixels that didn't match up with anything, that forced it to blend to the row that it was missing. I'm just uploading the entire set over again, much easier this way. These work 98.765% at all IRs, even the weird .5 ones. And forgot to say thanks for the new frames Echoes. As always, they look awesome. Gonna try them out now. And I'm just moving all 4 of these to the party folder, 2 of them are in UI-Misc if I remember correctly. The portraits for the characters are slightly offset to the right. I honestly don't mind it, but there is no clean "fix" for this. Here are the options and/or their drawbacks. 1.) The portraits cannot be changed, the game cuts them off at that point so they cannot be shifted left. 2.) The gray box could be made smaller, but then the HP text overlaps it and the border will be thrown off. Shrinking it anymore will cover more of the exp bar. Also, the HP text is not the "HP" text texture. It's using an alphabet texture that would require too much editing. 3.) The gray box could have an inner border or something to compensate for the gap, but that may be ugly. 4.) Leave it be and deal with it. Outside of those, I don't think there's much that can be done to fix the nonalignment. One thing I like about being the only one around is I can keep updating the same post infinitely. ![]() So something that has been long overdue is a better minimap cursor. I don't know who thought it was a good idea to make it an equilateral triangle, but I could never stand it because its hard to tell what direction you are facing when turning. This cursor is slightly more narrow, but also slightly taller.

Talk about not paying attention.) The ones we already have are slightly different. The one in menu_arts is a circle like this one, the one in UI_Misc is similar, but is just the trinity symbol. Looks very nice.I have nothing immediate on my list, so I'm gonna go right into the 2nd layer of central factory, unless you have commands oh slave driver. I do want to look into the remaining small border errors eventually but still need some more recovery time from the last ones. Those should be fun to rebatch, it gets more and more fun the more files you're working with (so I imagine you're having a blast at this point). Edit: Before I forget again narcku, will you share your lighter Melia hair? When I seen the pic all it did was tease me. |
