So long story short, it was just a slightly more opaque white bar, and not an issue with scaling.

Phew. At least it was an easy fix.

I'm going to batch my backtracking expedition results in a couple hours here. I'll switch those out while I'm at it.

Also, there probably is no way to fix that one pixel difference where the border meets the corner. I remember Echoes mentioning before that the game had issues with this and that it happens in all his borders. I'm looking at his textures and the transitions are perfect, so I can't think of any way to improve on it.

Edit: I also kinda see why it happens too. It doesn't tile the inner borders at all, it just stretches one all the way across. I modified the very last vertical row of pixels and it stretched for who knows how many pixels.

EEddiitt: Not sure what to make of the bottom right medium bar corner. It seems correct in the texture, but not in your screenshot. Gonna dig deeper...
^^Adding to this, it seems the whole bar across the bottom is out of scale for me.
^^Adding more, it's exactly as I thought. It scales the bars differently than the borders. There is no "fix" for this. If you correct it for one IR, you break it in another. Echoes did a good job of making it look good in all of them. With some tweaks, it can look almost perfect in 4x IR.

...but destroys it in other IRs. Probably best to leave it be.
The same thing with that corner. I'm not even sure why it's causing that white giltch. The corner is perfect, but the way the game is scaling these is imperfect.

tidE: Also, remember there are three of that top bar used in the title screen load menu. I just manually replaced those ones so they don't get mixed up.

Okay, good call. Better to just leave it then.

Also thanks for the reminder about the title screen menu replacements. I totally would have forgot.

About to sort and batch tonights backtracking adventure. Got quite a few textures. I hate backtracking though, probably the most boring thing about dumping. At least moving forward I get a splash of story to keep me amused.

Anyway, thanks for the top texture. Going to be glad to get rid of that nasty line through the middle.

So I decided to fiddle with Echoes' medium borders anyway... First, I resized the canvas for the side borders so they matched the longest dimension of the corners. Next, I made sure all pixels were the same, so I used pieces of the corners to recreate the sides. Finally, I made sure that all pieces were exactly 52 pixels away from the outside of the canvas.

Edit: Oooh I was so proud of myself I forgot to state the drawbacks. It still looks incorrect at 1.5x and 2.5x IR. And there are still some inconsistencies on the outskirts of the borders. But I really don't think this can be helped. The good news is, the colors shift correctly, and there's no garbage between the borders.

Have you been working on those this entire time? You were pretty determined, haha.

Edit: Nice, you even kept them all in the folders so I didn't even have to manually move anything. That's so classy.

Yep lol, well a small break to take my dog out and grab a snack. But hold off on batching those, I found some issues that I want to fix. I kinda jumped the gun on it because I was excited. I think I can perfect them and it shouldn't take me too much longer. Whatever I sent you, delete it. Tongue

LOL, hopefully nothing earth shattering because I already batched them.

Edit: Renaming all of my folders to the same as yours has it's perks :p

Edit: Yup, I seem them. Slight alignment issues on the corners.

Thanks for fixing some of my mess Bighead! I overwrite and change stuff all the time, so I can definitely see how I had an oversight, hahaha.

And yeah, the medium borders are pretty annoying. Admittedly, I doubt I tested at resolutions lower than 3X. The bars are pretty annoying too, with how they have to be smaller. It gets tedious.

Speaking of oversights, while making these ones, I realized that some of the character portraits need to be realigned a bit (Sharla and Reyn, for example). I didn't understand what was happening until I replaced them with empty space and went "oooooooh".

Also, anti aliasing can help fix some of the misalignment issues (not the one mentioned above about the portraits, the ones with borders and stuff like that)

Party bars look awesome! I'm super excited that the UI is done. It's done, isn't it? :p

If the party member portraits are static IDs, and I think they are, I've never seen them untextured, it shouldn't be hard to give them a slight alignment job.

Edit: I don't know if you keep up with the thread and DL the little patches we put up, but I actually retextured that Box around the characters in the party menu and I think that's what we're going with for the next update. The characters are still out of alignment, but I might be able to edit the party bar if the party screen portraits are not static.
