Here's some screenshots just for fun. I used the moon jump cheat to fly to the highest level of central factory since it's not accessible until later because I want to get it all done at once. Was a bit rough because the game is programmed to see a certain level as a pit, and I died a few times. I had to fly outside the borders, and then found out the transporter is actually active so I could have warped using that if I cheated to get beyond the gate...

In this one, if you fast travel to where Junks is supposed to be, you can walk on invisible ground and see part of Junks just floating in mid air. It is uninhabited.

And it appears you can actually use the warp to Mechonis Core, but nobody's home.

And if you fly so high, the minimap cursor vanishes as if you shifted floors. This may happen in other places but I never really checked. A planned 6F that maybe got deleted?

Lol, breaking the game. I used the superspeed cheat to get over some of the places in high entia tomb I wasn't supposed to get over (long jump ftw). However, some of the doors are actually locked in there so you can't go everywhere until later (or earlier with Melia by herself). That's interesting about the minimap, it wouldn't surprise me if there was at one point an additional floor. A lot of stuff never made it into this game.

Fiora gets her real body back at the end of the game. It actually is covered in the artbook for the game, of all things.

Also I loaded back into the game, getting ready to head into Prison Island (finally! been trying to get there for like 3 days!) and decided to switch to night and spawned another huge pool (a lot of sub menus, 4 or 5 main menu palettes) of missing IDs. I swear, if I see a missing set next game I'm going to lose it.

Edit:

Noticed something funny today while playing: a menu palette icon popping up in the status effect area. So I saved state and reloaded without custom textures, got some debuff icon dumped. Went looking, through what you gave me and found in in the menu palette. I couldn't find a matching icon in the status effects folder, so I wondered if no one ever made one. Well, I still have the old download from before (4.1U), and searched. Lo and behold, found the icon. So... somewhere in between 4.1 and 4.5 the icon got replaced. Edit: Actually, it was between 4.5 (the correct file is there, so no worries about the current download on the front page) and the updated version you gave me personally. Anyway, you need to remove this file from your menu palette (or whatever it is now) folder and throw this one in status effects.

Edit again: If it helps, its an inventory icon (book with a loot bag on it).

Hmm I must have crossed wires somewhere. Hopefully I didn't make too many mistakes like that, that's the second one so far (now I'm counting that bonus file Tongue). It probably happened before I broke everything down into folders. Although, how it got turned into an inventory icon is a mystery to me. My only theory is that when I first started batching files, I was manually pulling icons from the dumps folder and I probably grabbed the default version of that one by mistake. I didn't have everything in folders until a few days before I sent you what I had, so it was easy to overwrite just about anything. Whatever the case, I replaced it with that icon.

Good deal. Yeah, I actually searched (using windows, not by hand) through the files you sent me and my own files (just in case I messed up) for all of the other _x.png files other than _9 to see if they had any of the common _9 repeating textures. Didn't find anything that stuck out, so I think that was an isolated mistake.

Edit: It was just kind of funny that it popped up. I was like, eh? Wtf does that mean? lol.

Yeah I have trouble noticing small things like that, I get too hyped to kill stuff and don't pay attention to anything other than my character and the enemy I'm slaughtering. Looking back at your screenshots from before, are you using the blurred or non-blurred icons. I'm wondering if the non-blurred ones look good at higher resolutions. My monitors are only 1920x1080 and they look bad. I'm gonna include both, blurred ones by default, but if non-blurred do look good at higher rez it might be worth putting a note in the folder with them.

I'm using the blurred ones. The only "optional" things I'm using is Narcku's Wii Monado (it's freaking sick looking) and some custom stuff I whipped up to test out that I plan on doing some work on at some point.

I can test out the other ones though if you want. I just figured that I'd mostly stick with the "regular" pack stuff so if I run into any issues I can fix them. Less worried about the optional stuff. On that note, I think I like the unblurred black texture more for that one angled bar that pops up.

Also, we're approaching 50k textures :p and I just finished the story events after Prison Island. So going to retexture all of these and take a break for a bit, then it's onward toward the snowy mountains.

Yeah no rush, when you get a chance I'd like to know how they look at higher def, at 1080p they look very jagged. Also as you enjoy the HD map in Valak, remember my blood sweat and tears that went into making that one possible. Tongue Out of every map, I hated that one most of all, probably because I like borders and they didn't use them so it took a long time to figure out where they should be.

Everything looks good, the ramp lines up on the minimap, but if you walk real slow you'll notice the minimap transitions in increments, its not smooth at all. This ramp just happens to fall on one of those transitions, so the slightest step south sends it out of alignment. But can't do much about that, and I'm sure almost everyone would never notice it (but I do!!). I had to compensate for stuff like this in over half the maps by making them wider or semi-off.

Haha, you're so OCD. Hahaha. I'm the same way with stuff like that. Drives me NUTS when I can't get things exactly how I want them. But, you're right, no one will probably ever notice. But, I definitely enjoy your HD maps. It's going to be sad when I get to some areas where you haven't finished them yet.

Also, I never got back to you despite your constant reminders. The Ether Mine map worked just fine, I noticed nothing off. Same with all of your maps. Next game I'll probably pay more attention since I'll be doing all of the side quests and monster kills.

But for now, time to sort out these files into their respective folders to be batch renamed and try to not pull a Bighead :p

And, just to help break up the monotony of this map making / dumping extravaganza:

Edit: And speaking of OCD, I've had a 1 file difference between my top and bottom borders for the medium bar (before this batch, 250 tops, 251 bottoms)and it's been driving me crazy. But jsust now, sorting through this batch to retexture, I found one extra top bar compared to the rest. Smile Smile Smile .
