So, I've been a lurker for sometime now, dabbled with Dolphin here and there, pretty cool to see the amount of progress in the last year alone. Fantastic work!

Anyways, my question is as follows: There's an HD Texture board right now, but could there be an HD sound board as well? Or maybe just a general area for such
Disc/ISO shenanigans? I've been messing around for a while now on the idea of swapping out sounds/music in different games and I've seen massive amounts of unanswered posts
from multitudes of forums asking for documentation on replacing different assets within a game.

Hopefully before long, we might be even able to replace aged models and effects in classics.

Just food for thought. If it seems to be a bit too much to ask for, then I would simply ask where I could post my findings/tutorials on such things.

Thanks for any responses in advance! Wink

The only reason HD texture packs are so common is that Dolphin has an extensive way to automatically load textures from external folders and apply them into games. Sadly, there is no such function for replacing game music, so there wouldn't be much reason for such a forum until such time as Dolphin gets the ability to load external audio files (e.g. a folder full of FLACs) in place of a game's stock music. Modifying game ISOs to change the music is beyond most users' abilities, and different games support different audio formats, so for those games that use sequenced BGM, replacing the music in the ISO with streaming files wouldn't work at all.

Thanks for the quick reply! (I apologize that mine was so late). I completely understand your point on the matter. Whole project started with me wanting to replace some Wind Waker music with some from ZREO (Zelda: Re Orchestrated). I've been working on ways to dynamically patch music into .ISO's by encoding the PCM files from .WAV's. So far, I've only had success in small increments (way too many issues with looping and sizing since some discs require 2kb alignment and others don't AFAIK).

Thanks again for the thorough explanation! If I may ask; Is there any interest (feature-wise) in replacing some of the lower quality music in some games through Dolphin?
