Let me know if you want my textures and i'll upload them on google drive. I'll be working with them some today to see what I can come up with. I thought I'd mention this, if we can vectorize the most important textures such as characters faces, hair and hair colors, expressions, GUI, villagers & environment in all seasons (similar textures like these only need to be done once then I can professionally match the color spaces in Photoshop and then rename them accordingly) then it would be awesome. Things like item icon textures and textures for placed item and other little monotonous things could be upscaled by the individuals. I'm already working on copying the textures you've done and matching the color spaces for the new ones.
Could everyone with dumped textures upload them to a file hosting site like Mega or something? The more dumps I have, the better, with a game as diverse as this.
I'll update it tonight or tomorrow with some newer versions of the winter stuff.
Despite the emerging relevance of Waifu2x, however, because of how small the original textures in this game are, my original method is still better for recreating them.

I myself don't have any experience in this area, but I've just shared your reply on reddit/Animal Crossing in the hope of getting more people with the skills to take this project on. I'd gladly take whatever textures you've finished so far on Google Drive! Thank you! 01-14-2017, 11:21 AM

I've been talking with someone over PMs and would definitely be open to having others help out too. For the past few days I've been setting up a Github repo for easy collaboration, as well as writing a guide on it in order to keep standards up. I also recorded a start-to-finish walkthrough of making a texture so newer people can pick it up. I think it would be near impossible to vectorize this entire game, but a lot of it feels pretty decent already. The most important things I feel are the characters, UI, and environment. 01-15-2017, 02:47 AM

Here's some of what I've been doing. Let me know what you think. I know this is just one but I've accomplished much more.
Spoiler: I sorted through all 8K textures the other day and made appropriate folders for the textures. That really took all day but it was worth the easy of working on all my textures, now all I have to do is pick a category such as the environment and start working on them. I found these weird texture glitches, any idea whats causing them? They appeared after loading the filtered & vectorized textures.
Lines in the sand texture Spoiler: Spoiler: Spoiler:
What graphics backend are you using, and what other options?
Be sure your graphics options are set up like so for RUUE01: (obviously resolution and AA are configurable, but be sure AF is set to just 1x) Here's what my game looks like currently. I'm using the Direct3D 12 backend, btw - it's very stable and I haven't seen any graphical defects, at least for RUUE01. 01-24-2017, 03:34 AM

For the bridge thing it was the AF cause I always run mine at x16. But the hair and sand are still wrong. But before running those textures I didn't have that problem. Weird.
I only run Direct3D 11 because I've never seen improvements in Direct3D 12. My setting: 02-13-2017, 10:24 AM
Can anyone post with a download link to the finished HD textures (whenever they're ready)? I don't want to get out of the loop.
Message me if you'd prefer my email to send them! 02-13-2017, 10:39 AM

I don't think yttrium had gotten to do any more recently. They have done some and the download links are on page one. I haven't been working on ACCF yet, I want to get ACGC more perfected then I'll start working on ACCF. Might as well wait because there's only a limited amount of people working on these two games. |
