So i decided to emulate Super Mario Galaxy on my Macbook Pro to see how it goes, but i am having issues running Super Mario Galaxy. When i use the OpenGL Backend, it shows a box on the top left of the emulator saying that ARB_buffer_storage is not supported, making my game lag a lot. When i use Vulkan, the game runs smooth FPS-Wise, but there are blue textures everywhere, making the game unplayable. Here is what it looks like with Vulkan:

Yeeaaa that's just kind of the issue of MoltenVK. It's a bit weird sometimes. OpenGL would be a lot better, but since Apple has decided to abandon it and not support even 10 year old features like buffer storage... it's pretty butchered. If you want to properly play games on your macbook, I recommend you use bootcamp to play them in Windows. It will give you much better results since Windows supports standard APIs!

If it's better to use bootcamp, then why even have support for macOS platform...?

I play Super Mario Galaxy 2, with the following settings.  I get some banding, which is not great, but it is in my experience fully playable.  I would love to see improvements in performance, so please anyone how has advice join in.

Well, we could remove macOS support if we wanted to, but I don't think that would make people any happier. In some cases, macOS is good enough even if Windows is better, such as with games that are less demanding.

I understand. My question was rhetoric, as I didn’t think it was particularly useful to advise switching to Windows when a user tries to solve a problem on his Mac. I will be less passive aggressive going forward.
