I had reported some issues launching games from the Metroid Prime Trilogy sub-menu.  After looking around in the forums, I suspected this might be related to the ES_Launch feature.  I am now more convinced, after realizing that I can't launch the "Masterpieces" game trials from Super Smash Bros. Brawl either.

What are some common causes for ES_Launch issues?
Does ES_Launch rely on the virtual NAND ("Wii" folder)?

If the Virtual NAND is the cause, what files are specifically responsible?

Thanks in advance.

The causes I know of are:

Using an old buggier version of Dolphin (which probably isn't what you're running into)
Bluetooth passthrough shenanigans

Thanks for the quick reply.  So my virtual NAND has nothing to do with this?  ES_Launch in Dolphin doesn't go through the IOS's?
If the answer to those questions is "no", then I'm back to dealing with lingering BT passthrough problems.

It is related to IOSes, kinda... But I can't remember any case where the NAND content would affect the ability to ES_Launch between different things on the same disc. (ES_Launching from the Wii Menu to a channel or disc is an entirely different story)

For closure:

I eventually found that this was mostly an issue with BT passthrough that was corrected by changing my BT adapter's driver from libusbK to WinUSB (also through Zadig). There are still some issues launching Mii Channel from Wii Menu but my MPT and SSMBB launch issues, as well MKW freezing between tracks, have been solved with WinUSB.

Yes, winusb improves a lot this problems.

Do you have lastest mii channel?

I can launch it fine from wii menú and Dolphin ui.

Will like to hear what devs thinks about this. Didnt thought changing bt pasthorough driver Will make such huge noticeable difference.

I'm pretty sure I do have the latest but I'll overwrite it with a clean copy from the server, just in case.

You were right, it was my Mii save file. It appears to be corrupted. Oh well, there's no way I'll get rid of all my original Miis when I can launch the channel just fine from Dolphin. Other save files probably have a problem too because I can't manage my Wii save files from the System Menu / Settings. No big deal. I don't really use the System Menu for much.
Thanks for the tip.
