It's not really a bad configuration, it's just not really cost efficient of an upgrade. New build, sure. But the 4790K was no slouch. I've overclocked mine to 4.7 ghz and can match the Skylake equivalent of it in some, very specific tests.
I'm starting to realize this now and that I have made a mistake.
Would it be at least feasible to keep these parts as backup if something would happen to my current setup? Or would you recommend returning it altogether?
