There is a link on our recommended accessories page, your adblocker is just stupid and hiding the link from you.

Hi all,

Great review which inspired me to purchase the DolphinBar. It wasn't as straightforward to setup as I'd hoped but it's working now with just one issue that I was hoping the forum might be able to help with.

I'm running Windows 8.1 and the latest dev Dolphin Emu. Whenever the computer resumes from sleep, the dolphinbar status light returns to a steady flash i.e. it can't pair with any wiimotes. I have to go through the sync process each time - is this normal? Any suggestions?

Thanks

That sounds like a computer issue. I had a minor problem involving the DolphinBar getting in the way of restarting, that was solved by updating my bios. Is your motherboard's bios up to date?

Thanks for the reply. Yep it's up to date. I have an infra red receiver on the same motherboard which wakes the computer without issue. If you don't need to repair your device then it does sound like a computer issue, however I've tried it on USB 2 and USB 3 ports, selective suspend USB is off etc.

UPDATE: It's not just during sleep that the dolphinbar is losing the pairing. If I switch between modes e.g. mode 4 to mode 3, it also returns to a steady blue flash when returning to mode 4, and I have to re-sync the wii mote.

Have you done the DolphinBar firmware update?

Yep first thing I did. It just seems to 'forget' the pairing as soon as there is any kind of disconnect. This is with a standard wiimote. I have a motion plus remote being delivered today so will try that as well.

It's possible your DolphinBar is defective. That is very odd behavior. I don't really know anything on how to deal with this. If the Wii Remote Plus doesn't work as well, you should contact mayflash and ask them if it is defective - http://www.mayflash.com/contact/ . You should still be in the warranty period of wherever you bought it from, so returning or exchanging it shouldn't be an issue.

How exactly do you sync the wiimotes with it?

Thanks. I've dropped them a mail.

Switch to the required mode ('4' for dolphin emulation) press Sync until the light changes to rapid blue flashes. Press buttons 1+2 on the wiimote, all 4 lights on the wiimote flash then one becomes solid, and eventually the DolphinBar also settles on a steady blue.

UPDATE: Oops I know what I did wrong, thanks for the prompt Smile Re-synced using the sync button under the battery cover and seems to be working correctly now!

Yeah, using the 1+2 buttons only creates a temporary connection rather than persistent.
