aren't the normal drive mounting screws in desktops hex-socket as well?

No idea. I have tooless mounts so no need for screws.
I have everything installed except the hard drive. It won't accept the sata power cable (As in it won't fit) and I'm tempted to get a new PSU. 11-24-2014, 04:59 PM
(Yeah, I was technically talking to masterotaku)
There are screwdriver kits which contain all sizes. It depends on how long you can keep all the pieces together and organized. Labeled kits are easier to organize. Also helps if you don't habitually misplace things like I do. 11-25-2014, 01:25 AM

The guy who did it put some big "+" screws, and too tight. Using and incorrect screwdriver was my fault, but I didn't find the correct one around my house and I didn't know the screws would be that tight.

Hope this is the right place to ask...
I just read about DirectX 12, which comes (or will come) shipped with Windows 10. IIRC I read Nvidia claimed all chips from GeForce 400 series and laterwould well support it. But seemingly a bit later Microsoft said they would, but not 100%, as some new features would require indeed new generation hardware, or something like that. Heck, even "GeForce 800M series" Wikipedia article says "partial DirectX 12 support". Do you think there will still be more to be said about this? How likely/unlikely do you think DirectX 12 will full support GeForce 800 series? And, how much could Dolphin benefit from this new API in the future? 11-26-2014, 08:44 PM
For dolphin, someone needs to write it first, but there's also mantle too so it all depends on what the devs plan to do.

When Mantle was first mentioned, one of the devs said it might be useful, as we might get as low level as a 1:1 mapping for Wii GPU code to AMD GPU code, but when it was specified in detail, it turned out there wasn't low level enough access to the bits that would really benefit Dolphin, so at that point it was just going to be another backend for someone to maintain. At least with D3D12, it should be easier to port the D3D11 backend, so it's more likely, but it probably won't give any amazing speedups.

Really? that's disappointing, had a lot of belief that mantle could do a lot for Dolphin.

Heck, even "GeForce 800M series" Wikipedia article says "partial DirectX 12 support". All dx11 cards (400 series and up) will support dx12. But certain features may be locked in older cards. We don't really know since microsoft hasn't released any details yet. ZLRK Wrote:Do you think there will still be more to be said about this? Considering they haven't really said anything except the usual "it's faster" and "existing cards will work with it". Yes. We still don't have much real information yet about the details. ZLRK Wrote:How likely/unlikely do you think DirectX 12 will full support GeForce 800 series? I assume you mean the 800m series since the 800 series doesn't and won't exist. It will either fully support it or support all but a few features that devs will never use. ZLRK Wrote:And, how much could Dolphin benefit from this new API in the future? Impossible to know since we know so little about it at this point.

A8-6410 vs Tegra K1. Which is better a APU? (I'm leaning heavily toward the A8-6410.)
