Yea, that's not the first month. For one, the PS4 launched on November 15th. Going from November 15th to December 28th is hardly fair. Secondly, it is standard in the industry (and all business stuff for that matter) to only include from the day it was launched to the first day of the next month. So that's November 15th through November 30, giving the first month of sales 15 days in total for the PS4. Confusing sure, but that is normal industry standard terminology. Every console ever has had to deal with this.

According to the link above, the first month sales according to Sony are 2.1 million from Nov 15 to Dec 1st.

Historically that was sort of true at the start of every gen, especially the last one. It makes sense: each gen had to last for several years, so they'd start big. After a couple of years the PCs would pass them in performance and then PCs would be better for several years until the next cycle hit. But that become increasingly impossible to sustain, and the PS3 was burned because of it.

This time? That statement is completely false. This current gen is literally a few year old computer parts with some slight modifications. The days of consoles besting PCs are long behind us.

Man I remember talking to some kids about my PC, they said I was stupid to think that it was better than 360/PS3 (hardware wise). They then proceeded to say I was a retard for having a water loop for my CPU. They were then humbled playing several games on my Comp (including Dolphin). They were young so I was tolerant, but I got to wonder where else I'll get that kind of reaction in the future.

It was a long winded conversation, and eventually it came up. They had played Minecraft on PC, but their computers couldn't handle anything more than short/normal render distance, low settings, etc and proceeded to say the 360 version was superior in every way. I tried to nicely tell them the lacking features of the 360, but then it started to get ugly....

It's pretty hilarious when people see my computer since it's in a clear Acrylic Chasis (or case, I just like using chasis for some reason). I'm not putting up pictures of the whole thing until I can clean it up a bit (there is some dust) and when I clean up the cables and sleeve them.
