Yeah, a 480 would've been the better choice. You would've still had to wait a little longer though if you wanted an AIB.
I'm not sure how it's in the US, but the general availability and the price aren't too great here atm.

And if you could wait even longer then the GTX1060 looks good from what I've seen.

I bought this 960 awhile ago during black friday I think, it is currently in my old PC (whose GPU is currently in a box and shall be replaced when the rest of my parts come).
It never occurred to me that buying an older GPU could be better/cheaper, so I never looked into it. At any rate I will be putting a 970 into it, the question is will it stay there XD

Ah, that makes far more sense XD (also I have come to hate AMD anyway and the 480 sure didn't help)

Early batches of the RX480 are actually 8GB cards with a BIOS lock yes. It was probably cheaper or more convenient for them to just slap a sticker on the package. It wont last too long.

Gives me an error when ever I tried to install from USB. I ran memtest86 with no problems (not for very long however). I got bored of trying re downloading (then realized I can just save the .iso >.>), so I decided to try using a windows 7 disc I have for lulz, which so far seems to be working fine. I don't have any blank DVD to burn to, to test (might be able to grab one later today) so I'm going to try another flash drive.

I can boot it from USB just fine
Spoiler: (Show Spoiler)
1. From Command Prompt : Type

diskpart.exe

2. List all the disks and identify your USB stick:

list disk

3. Select the disk number that is your USB stick, e.g.,:

select disk 4

4. Remove all existing partitions:

clean

5. Create a new partition, make it active and format as FAT32, then assign a drive letter:
(copy and paste this line)

"create partition primary
select partition 1
active
format quick fs=fat32
assign"

6. Exit diskpart:

exit

7.The final step is to copy all the files from the Windows install media to the USB device--for example, where g: is my ISO mount of Windows media and f: is my USB stick:
xcopy g:\* f:\ /s /e
