Why? For practice, the experience and not needing to spend money I really don't need to. It's nice to learn for a skill if I get into hardware repair and want to run a small scale backyard tech/mechanic operation. If I am to upgrade it would be to a GTX 970 just that I don't have that kind of money to throw away right now. Also, I would rather upgrade everything at once.

I have. It definitely wasn't as bad as evaporated circuit board. The room it was in had an extractor fan on, and I opened all the windows (of which there were several) and it was hard to breath in there without gagging for nearly a full day.

In retrospect, I should probably have stopped heating the circuit board once it started bubbling.

they were saying the pentium was a beast and didn't answer me when i asked what the drawback was. had to lookup performance myself then

It's not a beast, it simply offers pretty much the same performance in applications that only use 2 cores.

well, my system is now as good as dead

constant I/O issues, windows not booting thanks to them, drives corrupting etc etc.

sadly limited deu to budget but thats one hell of an upgrade me thinks XD
im moving the GPU & Sound card from my system to this. Drives will get replaced over time.


personally, i wanted to wait for skylake but my computer said no...

Why did you pair a locked multiplier CPU with an expensive mobo for overclocker ?
It should be either i5 4690k + Z97 or i5 4460 + H81
