The drawback is that you still have people scared to overclock who won't buy it, and that there are situations where it's not sufficient, but that's the case for anything that cheap. There's one in my younger brother's machine, and it's enough for all the games he plays, and I've not even got around to overclocking it yet.

The only drawbacks are the lack of AVX support and a crappy iGPU.

There's very little that doesn't prefer two fast cores to four slower ones, especially from something in that price range.

But ... if You use vagrant, docker, some photo processing soft like Capture One and not only using PC for games, than 4+ Cores is a nice idea.

Who care ! it's as fast as the beast i7 4790k @ 4.4GHz in Dolphin Benchmark , for only $70 .
More powerful than any Quad core AMD if you overclock .
Run cooler than APU , can achieve 4.6GHz with just 1.35Vcore (safe oc) and stock cooler , don't even think about overclocking APU on stock cooler !
_Pentium's Power Consumption is 53W max at stock speed and 87W max at 4.6GHz
_My A10 6790k : 100W max at stock speed and 155W mac at 5.0GHz
Higher Power Consumption = Higher heat . Infact , I had to spend lot of money on a high-end ITX cooler to overclock A10 6790k yet it still run very hot . You may need cpu backplate cooling if you don't want to put to much stress on the mobo , just my 2 cents

That's not how it works
You know . If you had a SSD , you could open more than 10 apps instantly ! A top of the line 8 cores will not help you as long as you are still using HDD

Well I just had to take out my GPU in order to route a SATA cable for a new SSD. I really like my case, and like my motherboard, too, but together they're a really poor combination. If anyone's interested, it's a 500GB 850 Evo, so now I'll actually be able to have more than one game on non-mechanical drives.

And, even more exciting, this is probably one of the first pieces of expensive kit to end up in my machine without consulting here first since I joined.

The Nvidia GT 210 is a shitty card. Got it from a doomed computer in our lab, and it runs fine under Windows, but refuses to boot into Hackintosh 10.10.3. I was really trying not to buy a new GPU......
