Has anyone ever experienced any issues with Windows 10 in relation to putting the OS to sleep, i've run into two problems each twice within the week.

The first is that when i try to get the PC to sleep, the screen goes off as though it's going to sleep but then just hangs there, all buttons are not responsive except for the power button, and pressing that turns off the PC completely.
The second happens when i turn on my PC after putting it to sleep, it comes on normally but then i notice i have no audio, the audio service is running and my sounds are not muted but i get no audio, however similar to the previous issue attempting to make the OS sleep, restart or shutdown leads to it hanging with the display off and only the power button shutting it down.

When i did the install i did it with the 'keeping my files option', after that the only driver i updated was the graphics driver as everything else seemed okay, perhaps it's some driver incompatibility causing this, in which case i'll just reformat without keeping my files and just get the drivers from scratch, but i'd rather have that as a last ditch option.
......?????

Your audio hardware/drivers are experiencing a compatibility issue with win 10. This kind of stuff is exactly why I don't understand why so many people were hellbent on immediately updating their OS to an entirely new version.

because it looks great and works great. also, alot of drivers should still work fine. afaik they didn't do much to the driver stuff of the kernel.
dont get me wrong btw, im still waiting untill im forced to upgrade. but i'd recommend win10 installations in a month or 2.

Agree, no upgrading for me until everything gets sorted out with Windows 10. The only way I'll upgrade is if I seriously have some OS issues, slowdown, etc. But for now, I'm good with Win 8. Sure it looks better, but Windows is just teasing you to switch........with driver problems.

Free as in you don't upgrade your hardware or you'll have to reinstall Windows 7/8 or after a year you're fucked.

Only if you're upgrading from an OEM key, which is basically the same as the official conditions you were under with 7 or 8. As well as this, when I last checked, that statement wasn't an official one, but instead came from one tech support guy via the live support section of MS' site, so could well just be wrong.
OS: Windows 10 64 bit Professional
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5900X
RAM: 16GB
GPU: Radeon Vega 56

No, your Windows 10 activation is bound to your hardware-ID regardless of the product key that was used when upgrading. You change one part of your hardware - and it changes and Windows is not activated anymore.

You can go back to Windows 7/8 and upgrade again, but after a year you're out of luck.

Skylake could have something like inverse Hyperthreading. Could be amazing for Dolphin if it is actually true Big Grin
