IT's possible DXtory is just inefficient when recording OpenGL, you know.

Might be. Upon re-reading he is using that unofficial D3D9 build but I'm not sure if performance in that is on par with master. He mentions D3D11 being faster than OpenGL which is not true with latest dev builds from master unless the game requires enabling accuracy options that has a greater performance hit with OpenGL vs D3D9/D3D11 ala efb to ram.

I just skimmed through so I misread some stuff but re-read and saw he tested with that unofficial D3D9 build and a build with D3D11 that may or may not be a recent dev build from master. As said higher IR's are going to have a performance hit even more so when recording so maybe the D3D backend can cope with the overhead of recording better than OpenGL but I dunno.

The OP might also need to update his GPU driver. OGL is much slower in the latest development versions than it is in 4.0.2 if you use nVidia's drivers prior to 332.21, due to the lack of both the VSH and ARB_buffer_storage.

Afaik Shadowplay is only supported by GTX 600 series and higher

Btw the 3D11 backend is faster than OpenGL.
OpenGL is also very slow (when recording) in older versions when it wasn't as accurate as it is today ..
I guess DxTory just doesn't work properly with OpenGL ..

make sure to close geforce experience

make a new shortcut to geforce experience add this at the end

-shadowplay then launch geforce experience

@Xtreme2damax: Yes I know that OpenGL got much much faster in the past weeks but I'm only talking about the performance issues when you record something with DxTory Smile

Yes I think so to .. DxTory seems to have many issues .. I don't understand why they want 30$ for this buggy software .. Ever thought about making money with Dolphin then? ^^

I tried to record something with OpenGL backend like last year or something .. I also got this performance-drop but I didn't made a thread because OpenGL was known to be slow by then .. So I guess it's nothing about my GPU driver ..

Sweet gotta try this Smile
