Windows 10 1903
Dolphin Dev 5.0.11046
Tools required to convert midi input to gamepad buttons:
https://github.com/Snoothy/UCR/releases Universal Control Remapper v0.8
https://github.com/ViGEm/ViGEmBus/releases ViGEm
or
https://github.com/jshafer817/vJoy/releases vJoy
to emulate joystick output.
UCR is a portable application and settings are stored in the context.xml. I suggest you delete context.xml that comes from GitHub as I couldn't see my devices until I did.
In this example I'm mapping an octave of my midi keyboard to joystick buttons.
With your midi input device connected create a new profile and select your midi device as the input and vjoy or ViGEm as the output.
Now open the profile and choose axes range to button. (UCR sees midi input as an axis - just go with it!)
In Axis 1 input select the … and choose the midi note you would like to map to a joystick button.
In Button output select the joystick button you want to map too.
I set all x/y start/end to 0
I added a axes range to button plugin setting for each piece of the drum kit:
Orange kick drum bass
Red snare drum
Yellow hi-hat
Blue tom-tom
Green crash-cymbal
Activate the profile by pressing the play button.
Now in Dolphin you need to choose Emulated Wii Remote and configure. Choose drum kit as the extension. Assign on the extension tab your joystick buttons to each of the drums.
Calibrate your setup in RockBand for latency and it should all work. I can hit 100% on drum practice finger drumming using a midi keyboard.
