The 970/980 are fast enough to handle 4K in dolphin and support hardware based recording/encoding in 4K which I recommend that you take advantage of.

Why are you using a server setup to run dolphin? If you're doing software based recording it can cause slowdowns if your cpu and HDDs aren't up to the task. What is your HDD configuration like?

From what I can tell it can run everything at 4k with medium to high levels of aliasing. At worst you have to go to 2x or turn it off with recording but I doubt it. The only game that might give you trouble is xenoblade with the hd texture pack with 8-16x aa while recording.

Got my GTX 980 Strix about 2 weeks ago and I can confirm that Dolphin runs perfectly @ 4k 60p Smile
Recording gameplay with shadow play doesn't cause any noticeable performance reduction, what really surprises me.
CPU: 2 x Intel Xeon e5 2687w @ 3.1GHz (3.8GHz turbo)
GPU: Asus GTX 980 STRIX
RAM: 16GB DDR3 1600MHz
Dolphin is installed on an SSD by OCZ; Vertex 3 with 530MB/s Rs, 500MB/s Ws
