Shocked
I was wondering if a Nvidia GTX 280 would perform well with most wii games (mario kart wii, mario galaxy, etc.), and how fast it would be combined with an intel pentium d 3ghz. any tips and comments welcome!

It will suck. Not gonna even beat around the bush on this. Dolphin is heavy CPU not gpu. As a person who has had a pentium d, get ready for crap. You can Oc that thing as much as you want but its just a BAD cpu. You will get most likely 60-70% speed on almost all games or atleast I did. Pentium D is just bad. I personally had mine oced to like 3.5 ghz and it still sucked on anything cpu intensive. Don't even now how to tell you any other way. sorry man.

I'd also say Keep your money because that gtx280 will simply be bottlenecked by the cpu the best card i would suggest to go with that cpu is a 9800gtx or ATI HD4850

Or for the price of the GTX280 you can get a Core2 series cpu and a decent HD4890 (even a 5770 would be good) or gtx260
(just saying that it would be wiser to upgrade your cpu if your mobo supports the core2 series)
