Just a reminder for anyone with a Microcenter around them, Get a 2 year warranty on the card you buy so that whenever the next gen comes out you can return it and upgrade with the gift card they give you.

Hey guys, I will being doing a benchmark with Ishiiruka when the GTX 1080 comes out. I already have the pre upgrade benchmark out, expect the post upgrade benchmark sometime in june!
In the video I am using a 4k texture pack for Twilight Princess, in Native 4k resolution, while also using rim lighting, SSAO, and SSGI. As you can see in the video, my GPU performance on my gtx 970 is maxed out, so it should be interresting to see how much of an upgrade the card can give to an emulator. In fact, I think this will be one of those moments that set a precedent, because most emulator don't support intensive shaders that are taxing on the gpu, so I think in the instance, I will be getting a significant boost from the upgrade. 05-14-2016, 12:31 AM
I want to see real world performance in games like GTAV and other heavy games on the market. I may be looking at a definite upgrade by next month as I'll have around $2,000 coming my way.
I'm looking for at least 60 FPS @ 1080p. 120+ FPS @ 4K preferred. I'll mainly be playing these games, - Resident Evil games - Alan Wake - Saints Row - Evil Within - GTAIV & GTAV - Crysis 1 - 3 etc.. Then I can get to what matters. Like, setting up my current hardware as a streaming client. Or set it up with another Steam account and games to keep my sibling off mine. 05-14-2016, 12:48 AM

Now that the expansion has a release day, I fully intend on playing in 4k. BTW, I think you got your fps needs mixed up. Should be 120fps for 1080p and 60fps for 4k. I think gtaV will get 60 fps at 4k with a 1080 no problem. On my 970 I can get anywhere from 30-60 fps with custom settings at 4k, and the 1080 is supposed to have at least 20% gain over the Titan x and the Titan X is around 46% stronger than a 970, so rough educated guess, I think you will be good. 05-14-2016, 01:00 AM

Those effects always just make it look like you smeared Vaseline all over the camera lens. I don't understand how it looks better.
The HD texture packs look nice though. 05-14-2016, 01:15 AM

Oh I think you are referring to secular lighting right? I have Specularity turned all the way down so their shouldn't be any Vaseline issues. 05-14-2016, 01:19 AM
