Bug
I have made some changes to the defaults of the OpenAL back-end and would like some Creative sound card owners to test out the builds. To test this out, extract the build into a fresh folder and change the audio back-end to OpenAL. The test can be considered successful if the game's audio is recognisable. If you do test this out, let me know if you tested out the x86 or the x64 (or both) builds.

Thanks

i do not know if it counts, i have a creative USB Headset (not via my onboard soundcard) and i can hear sound in wind waker and mario kart wii. in windwaker i sometimes hear some minor fizzling with openAL but not with dsound, maybe due to framedrops? i used both versions

Yeah, I've been meaning to ask, does Dolby Digital II work on USB speakers? (headset in my case)

Any speaker can support Dolby Digital (there´s no such Dolby Digital II; probably you were confused with Dolby Pro Logic II or tried to say Dolby Digital Plus).

Anyway, yes; Pro Logic II works with every kind of speaker (what matters is how good or bad the sound card is).

Even if there is no sound card? I know that it "works" I just want to know if it is doing it right (5.1 channels, which I have)

(You MUST have a sound card to make it work). And precisely it needs a 5.1-channel audio system.

"DPL II processes any high quality stereo signal source into five separate full frequency channels (right front, center, left front, right rear and left rear). Dolby Pro Logic II also decodes 5 channels from stereo signals encoded in traditional four-channel Dolby Surround." (Wikipedia).

Why? You don´t have a sound card (or an integrated one)?
