Decreasing the framelimit results in a humorously out-of-tune output without noticeable pops. Yes, I can tell. Yes, I have perfect pitch. No, that's not what I expect at all.
On the other hand, running Prime95 causes stuttering visible as linear interpolation, and yes, there is still <EDIT>somewhat</EDIT> noticeable lag either way.
I'm sure that it will interfere with rhythm games, but unsure how it compares to the old.

Yes, changing the framelimiter also changes the pitch as I don't want to use soundstretch (now). This is imo better than the stuttering sound.

I get about half the audio latency I do in most games. Some games are oddly unaffected as I said before. I haven't noticed any popular games be unaffected. For those who want an easy way to test, run two copies of Dolphin, old build and test build, and compare how long the audio seems to wait. The newer build should (always) be the lower latency audio you here, where as the second time you hear a sound will be the older build.

This does not fix backend latency, only the mixer latency, thus dsound will still suck.

I'm a little confused about all of this - as I'm new to it.

So Mario Galaxy 2 has sound delay with LLE and none with HLE. I have to use LLE in order for the music to be continuous.

Skyward Sword doesn't seem to have any sound delay (using HLE) but I occasionally get little pops - which I sometimes get in other games too. Will this patch fix mario galaxy 2 but make other games worse? Thanks!

There's a special build on the first page of this thread. Download it, and see if it affects your problem or not.

Yea - it seemed to fix it just fine!

My question : How do I know when to use which DSP? What about the separate thread thing? Should I use that? It wasn't a popping sound - more like a stutter sound, which I hear when I get game lag.

No, that's just how dolphin works. Slowdown = audio running out of buffer and stuttering.

Why isn't this version up as the main version? It fixes a major issue - why not post it?

Because it's currently being tested, hence the purpose of this thread. The developers need to gather input and feedback about these changes before they're merged into master.

Im curious - the DSP on Separate Audio Thread option: should it be checked or unchecked? I've asked in several places and haven't gotten an answer. Thanks!
