Yeah, you're using a very old version. Use latest master.

Hi, as I'm a brand new user of Dolphin (thanks for the great job by the way) and of this forum I hope I won't say anything stupid.
On the 3.5 x64 stable I'm able to use normally Mario Kart Wii but with the 3.5-2418 x64 I have a couple of surprises. Mario Kart Wii: Once the game is started it says the "The data is corrupted and cannot be used. Delete the corrupted file and create a new one?" then after having pressed the Wiimote's button it says "Could not write to/read from the Wii System Memory. For details, please read bla bla bla". So I went to the Wii save folder and deleted everything, restarted Dolphin, restarted Mario Kart, same trouble. After that I sat Dolphin in admin mode, same story. 09-18-2013, 07:17 AM
Did you overwrite the old Dolphin install or is this a new install? I have never seen that message, are you using savestates? Those aren't transferable between revisions.

I don't use savestate. (09-18-2013, 07:21 AM)neobrain Wrote:...I did. Seeing your question that must be a mistake The folders and files seems to have been re-created but I'm new to Dolphin so I don't really know. In the meantime the stable version still does the job pretty well.(09-18-2013, 06:34 AM)kerdougan Wrote: So I went to the Wii save folder and deleted everything, restarted Dolphin, restarted Mario Kart, same trouble. I think I've found something.
If I launch the 3.5-2368 x64, I only have default settings. I can launch Mario Kart without any trouble. If I launch the 3.5-2381 x64 which implemented "Merge branch 'global-user-directory'" the trouble begins. I have my settings, graphic, folder, controllers, everythings. But when I launch any game I have those additionnal lines on the top left corner: Note: Option "EFBEmulateFormatChanges" is overridden by game ini. Warning: Opening the graphics configuration will reset settings and might cause issues! If I start Zelda IP I have no problem with saves but at startup I will have: Note: Option "SafeTextureCacheColorSamples" is overridden by game ini. Note: Option "EFBToTextureEnable" is overridden by game ini. Note: Option "EFBCopyCacheEnable" is overridden by game ini. Warning: Opening the graphics configuration will reset settings and might cause issues! If I start New Super Mario Bros I have no problem with saves but at startup I will have: Note: Option "SafeTextureCacheColorSamples" is overridden by game ini. Warning: Opening the graphics configuration will reset settings and might cause issues! I don't have any of those with the version 2368 and earlier, I simply have the usual lines. I hope that might help. 09-18-2013, 11:22 AM
Those are just letting you know that any settings you may have set are being ignored. This isn't new behavior, it was just done silently before.
Make sure you use the absolute latest development build. A lot of problems have been addressed since 3.5-2381.

It's fine until the 2368, from 2381 to 2422 Mario Kart can't manage saves on my rig. I checked the folder's rights and every needed account has full authority. 09-19-2013, 01:37 AM
Tested latest build 3.5-2429 Global User Directory. The issue? Game configurations do not stay saved if you make changes to them. Just as an example, if I change the external frame buffer settings in a game (in this case, Bloody Roar) which would be GBLE52.txt in the GameSettings folder, the default setting kicks in, therefore, there is no point in being able to edit these files and change the values from "true" to "false". Any changes I make get overwritten immediately upon loading the game in the question. So yeah, you can't make changes and keep them; always get reset to default. I was informed that there are still issues with configs not being saved properly.
