If that doesn't work, I have one more thing I could try on the VBA-M side.  I'll let you know when that eventuates.

I don't think I tried that.  I no that I limited VBA-M to 60FPS.  I'll try the framelimiter tomorrow and post the results.  Ok, awesome.

edit:
So, the first test was I turned off framelimit but, it made VBA-M run super fast. The Berry Fix Program didn't see VBA-M and it just went back to the main menu. The copy of Ruby just loaded like normal.

Test # 2, I turned of the frame limit in VBA-M and did the same for the rest of the test. This time, I got the "Transmission Error" message in the Berry Update Program. The output in VBA-M was the same as the previous test.

Ah, hmm: where would I see that? Or do I have to toggle it on or something?

Modded Dolphin on it's own;
14-21%, roughly at 18-20% in battle
When the glitch occurs: about +2 percent points, and VBA-m takes another 7%.

Again, my computer's not top-of-the-line and a number of years old, it's stats are in my profile.

Ok, it wasn't what I was thinking.  2% is too low for it to glitch out the audio.  I'll update you when there's a change that might fix things.

Nintendo service disc doesn't boot if a GBA is plugged in the controller settings (no yellow text comes up, but the VPS keeps changing and is very slow and if the GBA is removed it instantly boots), it will also pause and resume if one is plugged in after booting and trying to go the the place where you test it. If however you wait till you get to where you actually test it seems to all work fine after linking with VBA-M.

I guess I might as well say here that Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life connects fine with Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town.

Greetings skid and other users/developers,

I'm in a need of a working version of this fantastic experimentation for the Pokemon games. I do acknowledge issues are expected. Going by the most recent edits in the OP, it seems that the final version that has been merged into the master git branch does not support the Pokemon games - could you point me to the latest git branch that does, and if it requires anything special to access it, a brief explanation of the process?

Thanks a lot for your efforts, and hopefully for your answer Smile

Yes, Pokemon works in an old WIP development I was working on.  The old versions are slow but Pokemon does work.  You can download the old WIP build in the mediafire link below.  Both Dolphin and VBA-M in the zip file have to be used together.

Since there hasn't been an official VBA-M build with the MFC GUI in over a year, I compiled it the other day to use with Dolphin. It includes all of skidau's link changes. The link is here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/h9jc6a2hkzwaq74/VisualBoyAdvanceM1337.7z?dl=0

There *was* a recent build with a wxwidgets GUI, but it errors immediately on Windows.
