Just made a thread about this wondering if this sort of feature would work and here I see it's being actively worked on right now! Exciting!
What I'd really like to do is 8-player Double Dash using two Dolphin instances on the same Linux machine with two monitors. It seems like that's pretty close to happening! 01-16-2013, 06:14 AM

Exciting!I'm trying to do this on the same Windows machine, but I can't make the two Dolphin instances find each other =/. I have OpenVPN installed with the TAP virtual connection. Any clue ? 8 players on a same computer would really be great
I'm afraid I haven't done much testing... I'm content to let apt-get manage my Dolphin versioning on Linux, so I don't know if I even have the build that enables BBA support. Perhaps if I get bored on a weekend in the coming months I'll hammer on it a bit and see what I can do.

Thanks for the answer; indeed you might have to wait a while until this release gets packaged...
I am not an expert (at all), but here is what I tried: I created a second TAP connection, so that each Dolphin instance can use one. This seems correct, since each connection becomes active for each Dolphin instance I start. Then I created a bridge between the two TAP connections, so that both emulated Gamecubes can be on the same LAN. When I start the LAN mode in both Dolphin instances running Mario Kart, one says "I found another gamecube, press start", but the second don't say anything. If I press start on the first instance, it freezes irremediably, while the second instance still don't say anything and keep looking for a Gamecube. Even though I get better results with this setup, I don't know what else I could try. If developpers see this: was the BBA implementation tested in such a configuration? My guess is that it is (was?) much easier to test everything from a single computer, right? If so, it would be great to have some clues on how to do this! 01-30-2013, 09:09 AM

Press START/PAUSE to begin play with this number". But when I do press start on an instance, it freezes. Wireshark doesn't help much... Both emulated GameCube are communicating, yet I can't understand why it freezes. Do the GameCubes need to have IP addresses given by a DHCP server ? I guess not, since IRL they can be linked by a single ethernet cable. If they do need IP addresses, then I'll have to investigate how to create a DHCP server in Windows... 02-13-2013, 06:27 AM
When it comes to BBA + Dolphin + Hamachi (GC - Mario Kart DD) its hard to find any infos.
I've messed around with OpenVPN, Xlink and Hamachi. No Success yet. It cannot find the other GameCube (Dolphin) Is that even possible? Can someone please give some tips ? Me and a friend want to play over the Internet, without Netplay. With Netplay (Single-Core) it runs to slow for us. In this last video it runs on 1 PC, so it should be possible to make it over hamachi too ? http://wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php?title=GM4P01 (btw: Ports unlocked, Firewall off) Ping a Friend over Hamachi works fine too. 03-26-2013, 06:41 AM

I asked a similar question on Reddit(http://www.reddit.com/r/emulation/commen..._computer/) and the most promising response (http://www.reddit.com/r/emulation/commen...er/c90citl) linked to a guide on making 2 ips for the same computer. Let me know if you make any more progress with what youre trying to do. It's a shame that computers now are so capable of 8 players but there are no developers making games with the feature!(01-19-2013, 06:26 AM)Zerwan Wrote: When I start the LAN mode in both Dolphin instances running Mario Kart, one says "I found another gamecube, press start", but the second don't say anything.
