Hello everyone. No matter how I configure the emulator, dolphin with zelda windwaker runs slow. My computer has the following specs:
- AMD Phenom II X6 1055T 2.8Ghz
- 4GB RAM Kingston
- Video card ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB RAM
- I am running the game from an image in the hard disk (standard 7200 rpm hard disk).

Is there something I can do? Will I be able to run the game smoothly? If there is something I need to upgrade, what should it be?

Thank you all.

Define "slow". What speed do you get?

Well, it's not a great computer, but you should be able to play Wind Waker with no issues.

Try these settings --> http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/showthread.php?tid=23618

And this build --> http://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu/downloads/list
Asus Laptop: K53TA
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-Bit - SP1
CPU: AMD Llano A6-3400M, Quad-Core, 1.4GHz-2.6GHz (Overclocked)
GPU: AMD Radeon HD6650M, 1GB GDDR3 (Catalyst 13.1)
RAM: Samsung 4GB DDR3-1333

You might also want to do the following.

In the ini setting, the game is set to run the game with EFB Copies to RAM.

Right-click on the game in Dolphin, then hit properties.
In the window that pops up, hit edit config, which you can find at the bottom-left of the window.

In the ini file that opens, at the bottom, you should see these three lines:
Code:
EFBAccessEnable = True
EFBToTextureEnable = False
EFBCopyEnable = True
Erase them, save the file, and see if it worked.

The FPS can go as low as 15 FPS, and most of the time is not greater than 21.

Current settings are as following:

I am not running on fullscreen, although it does not make any difference. At all.

Garteal, just tried your suggestion but no luck Sad

Starscream I am gonna try your suggestions right now. I'll post the results in a few moments.

Thank you all.

You should set EFB Copies to Texture now.

I really wish i didn't have to. Besides, I've seen people in forums with older computers get better results. So either I am doing something wrong with configs, or dolphin hates me Sad
Also when I check resources usage, CPU is at 50%, RAM 50% and video card like 10% or 20%. So I don't think it's a hardware issue.

But I might be wrong, if you think so and have a good reason for that, please correct me.

What about other games? Are they perform poorly as well? Besides, did you make sure, that the Framelimit is set to "Auto" or "Off?
