Sad
I'm having this weird issue in Metroid Prime 1 (GC) in which some graphics effect are missing if I use the OpenGL backend.

Take a look:

OpenGL:

Other backends:

If you can't see this electric rays it's virtually impossible to advance in the game.

I'm using intel UHD 630 graphics with latest drivers and Dolphin version 5.0-12972-x64. I'm forced to stick with the opengl backend because it's the only one which doesn't eventually pop ups a message and crashes the emulator (actually I can't even quit the emulator, I have to log out from the system by pressing Windows key + L when that happens).

Any help or comments on this are much appreciated. Thanks!  Smile

Just fyi, your profile specs are out of date. Are you running Windows 7, 8, or 10?

If you right-click the game in Dolphins list > Properties > Verify Tab > Verify, do you have a good dump?

Yes, I do have a good dump. I'm running Windows 10 LTSC.

It's possible that it is a bug between the intel OpenGL drivers and Dolphin, because I also have issues with Citra with this intel video chip. If you have 6th gen (Skylake) or above with integrated graphics you should probably be using the same drivers as mine.

PS: profile updated.

Thank you so much. I'm playing the PAL version of Metroid Prime (GC) which is more complete and has bug fixes in relation to the NTSC-UC version (and you can also play it in 60hz mode, so it's really the perfect edition). If you can get the PAL version to test it I'd be very happy for that. Heart

Here's a save state right before the issue shows: https://drive.google.com/file/d/14v46FIBWia_cL4Fi8yau6Q0EpoX1NYzy/view?usp=sharing

Just make sure that you are using the OpenGL backend and your integrated graphics in Dolphin (in case you have Nvidia switchable Optimus technology in your laptop). Wink

Thank you so much for the fast testing.  Heart

So, issue confirmed. What do we do now? Do we file a bug report in the Dolphin Git?

We could. I don't know if it has anything to do with it but dsp lle isn't default. I know this since the save state wouldn't work with hle since it not compatible with lle save states. Though I don't use saves states often. Maybe that could cause issues but it unlikely. However neither the gtx 1070 or the mx 150.(the graphic card the laptops had as well as the intel cards) had these issues and show it fine with open gl. Figure I test it to also to make sure it wasn't a regression in open gl and not just the intel card acting up. So clearly it something with intel card or drivers.
