I have also noticed on multiple other machines that nvidia graphic cards look better than any ati graphics card in the market. ATI probally uses cheaper components, thus the quality level is lowered compared to nvidia.U're just a noob then, I got ATI 4870 with 1GB ram and there is no single core nvidia that could compare with this one. For such crap like gtx 260 the competition from ATI is 4600-series or something like that for half of the price u have to pay for gtx 260. Not mention "cheaper component" gddr5 ram in ATI cards and damn fast and expensive ddr3 in crappy gtx 260. Ok this is just getting stupid, it started off with just asking if a 9500GT was good, which it is, you suggested an ATI card but like me, cmccmc said he'd never had one and he'd heard some bad things about them, everyone has there preferences with NVIDIA and ATI, its exactly the same with Intel and AMD, some prefer one company over the other, some the other and some shift between the two. Just end it at that.

I'm not a blind fanboy of any company, I choose best offer for best price, if it would be nvidia I would choose nvidia but the last really good card from nvidia that I can say that beat ATI was GeForce 6600GT and it was very long time ago. Since that time all nvidias were big crap for me. Same thing between AMD and Intel cpus.

whoever posted this should already know that the gtx 260 has a bigger bus width and graphic buswidth. the gtx 260 has a bus width of 448 while almost every single ati graphics cards ever made so far have 250 buswidth. the graphics bandwidth is a 124gbs I believe for the gtx 260 compared to any ati graphics card it has two digits only. GDDR5 isnt really that big of difference to GDDR3 when u put it to the test on games and 3dbenchmarks. myself and other techs i know would only say it gives a 5% increase in 3d applications compared to GDDR3. as for the noob comment, what r u 5 years old?? theres nothing noob about testing games out with different graphics cards look on at games and judging better performance. its what review companies do all the times, only i dont get paid to do it. I did it out of looking for the best graphics card.

U've paid lot of money for something that it's not worth it cause for theese money u could have much more powerful graphics from ATI. Nvidia had their good moment few years ago and they stuck with it till today without much changes, they thought it will keep them as a leader of graphics cards sector for years, they were wrong. Best selling consoles makers - Nintendo and Microsoft - choose ATI graphics for their consoles, guess why - same reasons I've choose ATI. EDIT: I've forgotten - U're funny dude, such huge ram bus in nvidia cards is caused by very slow ram, faster ram card got smaller bus is needed, gpu's are max 128-bit and in this case with fast ram 256-bit is more than enough, to be honest 128-bit would be also enough, more over cpu's are only 64-bit so it ain't got any profit from bigger ram bus on graphics card. Think about it and would be nice if u will go and see somewhere Radeon card for real not only on picture from internet. |
