Also I prefer nVIDIA because I've never had trouble with them.Or maybe rather because U've never had any Radeon Well, actually there is no big difference for any game or dolphin between opengl 2.0 and 2.1, if U've found some info that Radeon 3-series supports opengl 2.0 upgrade drivers and then U got full 2.1, most of cheaper nvidias (like 9500gt) got ddr2 memory when almost all radeons got at least ddr3, some got ddr4 and U can even find cheaper models from 4-series with gddr5 ram for less than 100$.
OK, that's exactly what I'm talking about, look at the type of memory this geforce 9500gt from your link got, and dolphin works fine with geforces 6-series that only support opengl 1.5, damn works even with Radeons from old 8-series that supports ogl 1.4, so opengl 2.0 is perfect and there is no difference between 2.0 and 2.1, maybe will be with 3.0 but this in future.

I don't know about GTAIV and Mass Effect cause I got only 2 I've mentioned. (05-15-2009, 09:20 AM)cmccmc Wrote: ok first off, my Geforce 6100 supports opengl 2.1. About nvidia U hear only good things I had both, nvidia & ati, even 3dfx, virge and matrox in the past and Ur opinion base only on something such weak as geforce 6100 and something that U've heard from people that spent their money for nvidia and then regret it so they are trying to make themselfes feel better by talking idioces. I had for last few years Radeons 9600, X800GTO, 2600XT, 4870 and Geforce 7800GTX (most stupid idea of mine ever to bought this piece o'sh.t), 9800GT (this was bit better but still weak if compared with ATI cards), and my experiences were much better with ATI. Funniest thing is that even games with stupid logo "nvidia the way it's meant to be played" or something like that works better on Radeon cards. 05-15-2009, 03:36 PM

As for ATI recommendations i have never had one, but i hear about problems with them, where i never hear about NVIDIA, so i'll stick to NVIDIA

Could U give some examples what U've heard is wrong with ATI cards? I bet it was only nvidia's marketing. And don't U think that nvidia cards are way too expensive with so little power compared to ATI?

Dude, half of beta dolphin builds doesn't work at all with nvidia cards and U've found one that wasn't work with ATI and U think U're smart ass. U're getting ridiculous. How about antialias that doesn't work correct, or doesn't worka at all with most of nvidia graphics.

Um...I've been using Dolphin since around 1500SVN, all the builds have worked for NVIDIA cards except for the times when something got broke (cards used Geforce 8600GT & 9500GT)
