Quote:Also, NV, does that mean that EFB to RAM in 3.0, which are radio buttons, not checkboxes, mean that the EFB is copied to RAM and Texture? Or just RAM? 3.0 was from before neobrain made the change, so it still uses the hybrid method with the ram copy option. Quote:* DacoTaco wonders why he should upgrade his gpu Where did this come from (just wondering because it kind of seemed like a random comment)? An 8800GS is still fine for MOST modern PC games so long as you're running at a lower resolution. It starts to run low on pixel fillrate and video memory bandwidth at high internal resolutions like 1920 x 1080. It's inbetween a GT 440 and GTS 450 performance.

Yeah main reasons I'm upgrading is Physx games like Batman Arkham Asylum and next month Arkham City, and some open world games like GTA IV for what my 9500 isn't being enough anymore. Next year there will be major releases (Hopefully GTA V and some others) so I wanna be prepared
Aww to much good games coming, hope my budget can do it :/ Still, I want to upgrade my GFX to complete my major upgrade anyways, I had to keep my old card for a while, cause when I bought the MoBo, CPU, RAM and new case I spent a little more than I had planned ^^ Also, here is something very useful: Based on this I decided the best for what I needed was a 400 series, then the rest was basically decided by price. I wanted a GTX 460 at first but it's more than 50% more expensive than GTS 450 so it was the winner ^^
OS: Windows 10 Pro 64bit Creators Update
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 960 @ 3.6 GHz Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 960 2GB GDDR5 Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-870A-USB3 AM3+ Revision RAM: HyperX 8GB Dual Channel @ 1600Mhz 10-30-2011, 01:14 PM

It's also 66% faster than a GTS 450 (if you get the 1GB edition). It has since been replaced by the GTX 560 at the same price which is twice as fast as the GTS 450. In other words a GTX 560 is twice as fast for 50% more money, making it a better buy if you can afford it.

GDDR3 was used in some video cards at the time when DDR3 system memory didn't exist. Today's lower-end video cards use DDR3 (just look at the specs on those video cards). (and if rage isn't natively HD, im not sure which game is) also, which games these days still uses PhysX i thought that died out and shit what i was trying to say is that a gpu upgrade seems to be useless to me since im surprised how much of my 8800 GS 's power i can use now now that i have a C2D e7500... 10-30-2011, 10:18 PM
