Thanks (06-18-2017, 11:15 PM)Rbohannon89 Wrote: Lol blame game again o Lord. Look I'm way past pointing fingers I know for a fact nothing will be done and I'll be very surprised if it does. With that being said I know this is a volenter project lmao it's game cube that was years ago. Also this isn't Nintendo here now is it. Y'all made that very obvious. Give it up already you developers are a stubborn group set in there ways no more needs to be said. My only hope in all this in few years the development team actually won't let us users down when the so called hardwear comes out that can run it full speed. Chow Okay, I just gave you a warning and strongly suggest you to watch your manners if you don't want to eventually get banned. Now, regarding Dolphin on Android: 1) The Android version of Dolphin only exists because of two (or three) developers who wanted to work on it 2) To accurately run GC/Wii games, Dolphin depends of a certain amount of OpenGL ES features that are completely optional or rarely used on other Android apps, and as such, mobile GPU manufacturers (Adreno, Mali, Imageon, etc) simply ignore them or ship drivers with buggy implementations As such, no matter what you say, the reality is that it's not our fault that the mobile GPU manufacturers don't comply with the OpenGL ES specifications and that their newer drivers (on Mali's case) are actually worse than the older ones. Can these GPU drivers bugs be worked around? Maybe, but there's almost no interest from the people who work on the Android port and to be honest they shouldn't need to since it's not our fault the drivers are shitty currently. And before I forget, Dolphin is an open-source project, you're free to grab the code and implement the workarounds yourself if you're not happy with the current state of the Android port.
Avell A70 MOB: Core i7-11800H, GeForce RTX 3060, 32 GB DDR4-3200, Windows 11 (Insider Preview)
ASRock Z97M OC Formula: Pentium G3258, GeForce GT 440, 16 GB DDR3-1600, Windows 10 (22H2)
It's also worth noting, to fix the graphical issues these GPUs have with workarounds, this would likely make Dolphin SLOWER on Android, potentially by order of magnitude, depending on the game.
And considering users are begging for Dolphin to be faster.... 06-28-2017, 09:34 AM

Sorry for the lack of quality updates, my finger is still stuck in my ass and the doctor said it's gonna take at least 5 years until I can start giving a shit again. 06-28-2017, 11:47 AM

WE DON'T NEED EXCUSES WE NEED ABILITY TO PLAY GAMES! Obviously this guy doesn't know how mobile GPUs work. Download the source code for Dolphin Android. Fix all the graphical issues for your device. Open a pull request. Get it merged. ???. Enjoy your games on your dash-mounted Android tablet while driving your car. tl;dr: No one's gonna stop the universe just for you, my friend. Get over it and move on. Otherwise, get back in your seat. (I'm trying very hard to not backseat moderate, but as someone who had to put up with this with Android development, it hits a nerve every time.) 06-28-2017, 12:01 PM

WE DON'T NEED EXCUSES WE NEED ABILITY TO PLAY GAMES! Rbohannon89, you have a history of making demanding, insulting, and flat out entitled comments toward the developers. You have been warned about this before, and now you are making demands in all caps while insulting the very devs you want to work on something. Not only is it not exactly a way to make volunteers do something for you, but it's a great way to be banned from this forum for being a jerk. Problem is there are too many per device behavior issues. You would almost be better off making a repo of individual devices and their software revisions with a footnote of the driver version. Especially with OEM’s like Samsung, they modify the drivers considerably from the base. Your best bet would be to start by establishing a benchmark that anyone complaining of issues needs to submit results for. Can be a game or w/e. Biggest issue with record keeping is that every user uses a different game as their example. Then at the very least you can catalogue results that are more directly comparable. |
