Even the jump between a 260gtx and 470 gtx is very small in dolphin performance compared to the performance difference of the cards in pc games, unlike ati cards that their latest cards in dolphin do fine.
well... the ati cards in the list look to be about where they should be. the 1x and 2x efb scales obviously have more to do with cpu than gpu. but, if you look at the 3x efb scales, the better cards outscore the lower the ones. you can see how the three 4870 systems (spankbot's and skid's) have very similar x3 efb scores, only differing by 2 fps.
i have heard that dolphin is compatible with one gpu only. i thought that cfx setups worked with any game but, after looking at the chart it looks as if i am only getting the performance of one 5770. i looked up some benchmarks and the 4870 card has almost the same dx9 performance as the 5770. seems like my bench shouldve been almost twice that of a single 4870 since i have two 5770s but, i am showing only a performance difference of about 25% there. so, given that cfx doesn't work with dolphin, the ati numbers seem about right to me.
if you look at the numbers, pretty much any card that performs at least as good as a 4870 has playable frame rates (fps > 60) at 3x efb. i use rev 5739 when playing mkwii on my system. when playing with 2 or more players i can often see fps below 60, like around 52 or so but, the vps of my game is running past 100% and I do not get slowdowns. so, i guess that is a gpu issue since the vps is still high and the fps is slow. i just wish all versions of the emulator worked like that where the vps can be at 300% and the fps at 50 and the game speed still at 100% where it should be. it sucks that most other revs slow the vps down too for some reason when the gpu slows down. its like the cpu is bound to the video card, so regardless of how good of a cpu you have, it will slow down in scale with your gpu (in most revisions). i guess maybe mk was the only game that benefited from this so maybe some other games benefited more by changing it, who knows.
