Figured this would be the right right place to ask this.

How would a 2600K + 5770 at stock clocks run?

And on the IR question. I plan on putting this im my HTPC with the above cpu/gpu. I wanted IR that I would be able to use for Dolphin + my remote for the HTPC. Is this possible? Don't plan on building my own. If need be I'll buy a wireless sensor for the wiimote and one for the remote. Don't want to, but if the only way is build my own then I will just buy both seperately.

A 2600K is good for any game pretty much. I don't know anything about the GPU though. Anyway, the 'sensor' bar on the Wii is not a sensor at all, just a bar of IR LEDs. Therefore you could not use an IR receiver to get the Wiimote pointer and remote working. If your wondering the black part on the front off the Wiimote it is an IR camera that senses those LEDs. Wireless sensor bars are available on eBay cheaply, so look there.

So is a IR for a remote the same or different from how the Wii-mote works?

Ii would just like to buy one IR.

It's completely different. A sensor bar sends out IR light, an IR receiver receives IR light. You'll need both.

Ah ok. Got ya. That's what I wasn't understanding then.

So wii-mote reacts to light. Remote sends out the light?

No, the Wiimote receives the IR light and the sensor bar sends out the IR light
