Hi there,
So I am not sure if this is an issue with Dolphin, Windows, Nvidia or a faulty GPU, but I noticed that whenever I launch games on Dolphin, my GPU clocks would stay in 2D Mode.
My gpu is a GTX 970 MSI Gaming.
So I'd be running games with my GPU clock at 800 ish mhz. Whereas it should be running at 1140mhz and boosting to 1279. Which it would for any normal pc game.
Currently I flashed a custom vbios to set my clocks to 1520 and disable boost as shown here http://www.overclock.net/t/1522651/disable-boost-and-bake-in-max-game-stable-clocks-for-maxwell So my clocks will stay at 1520 no matter what. Rather than going up and down as needed.
And my god. I can not understate the difference this made. I imagine I have had this issue since I got my gpu a couple years back without realising. The difference is crazy. Everything runs so much faster now and I can crank MSAA on where before doing so would cripple frame rates.
I am just posting this out of curiosity to see if anyone else has had this issue or not and in case it helps someone. I always felt I was not getting the performance I should be getting considering my specs, and now I know why.
I am pretty sure this was a case specific issue and not a dolphin problem but I thought it would be worth mentioning none the less.
:-)
