I updated to the latest revision (3233). When Optimize Quantizers is enabled, the game totally freaks out. The geometry of the course is completely messed up and my character keeps falling.
Does that Optimize Quantizers thing only work with some versions of the game?

Oh, also, when I choose my kart, all the kart previews are just blobs of random geometry. And the Mii heads are totally gone.

Plus, the game isn't much faster with that fucking option turned on.

The game works fine when Optimize Quantizers is turned off.

Everytime I try to play this game with one of the newer revisions 3211 and up I always get this message after skipping the safety screens "Communications with the controller have been interrupted" Please Press "A" And when I press "A" on my Wii remote nothing happens. I've never seen this message before and it's only with this particular game.

Well, in menus it runs a lot faster Smile

You know, I don't really care if it runs faster in the menus or not. It isn't interesting. What is interesting is if it can run faster ingame.

Apparently the guy who could get the game working with optimize quantizers enabled is just lucky, or he was using a different version of the game, or I just need the revision 3207 because the ability has been broken in later revisions.

Frustrated trying to get this game to work w/ newer revisions from the last 2 weeks. I used a save game file from one of the main save game threads and every time i start the game it says the save game file is corrupted do you want to create a new one? Then i say yes, then it thinks for about 10 seconds then i always get "Could not write to / read from Wii System Memory" Read Operation Manual. I even used one of my save game files from one of my much older revisions where Mario Kart actually works and I still get the same error. I'd like to try the game on the newer revisions but i cannot get past this error. Advice please? thx

did you try copying the savegame to the "00010004" folder? Smile

i got it to work finally...not even sure what i did. but wow, the game is really screwed up with newer revisions. i tried 3216 and 3243 and the graphics were really messed up. And the Mario Kart hack that was added recently didn't seem to do anything at all? Are you supposed to use a certain configuration with the newer revisions?
