Ghost Inputs on Wii Remote?

so I am playing new super mario bros wii and I seem to be having ghosting issues. for example, when I hold (1) to run, sometimes it takes multiple button presses to actually register the (2) button. I'm using a bluetooth adapter from amazon so that could be the problem, but I didn't seem to have an issue with it before I reset my computer. any fixes?
