Thanks for the infos. 2 questions:
I have Visual C++ 2005, should I install that 2008 SP1 version , would that be better for dolphin and is not a problem I have SP3 ? And also, RAM affects the aplication? I have 1 GB and I'm thinking seriously upgrade it to 2 or 3 GB, especially if I would see a difference on dolphin. 04-17-2009, 05:15 AM
Yes, you should upgrade to 2008 SP1. Doesn't matter if you have SP3. 1GB of RAM should be sufficient for Dolphin if you're using XP. You'd need more if running Vista. The most important thing to make Dolphin run faster and more smoothly is a fast processor (CPU)

Downloading visual studio 2008 sp1 should optimize dolphin's data processing, I don't know if that can increase fps.

This thread is not for questions like this. Just see 1st post and you'll get the point
[don't matter] Anyways, yes, it's good enough [/don't matter] 04-20-2009, 06:52 AM

Hey guys, i'm new here to the forums but not new to emulation (some of you may know me from pcsx2, falcon maybe you have seen me (maybe not ), also RockmanForte from iDeaS forums (if you're here ) (mod there )).
now my question is what features does the OpenGL plugin need (that an Intel GMA IGP doesn't have) , plus is anybody working on the DirectX Plugin? 04-21-2009, 04:42 AM
The DX plugin is worked on off and on, but not really a huge priority. You can go to the Dolphin homepage and look at the SVN builds to the right and get an idea of what the devs are focussing on. Right now it's primarily Wii emulation and getting sound to work in Nintendo games. Intel graphic chipsets usually don't support OpenGL 2.1 which is required by Dolphin. If you want to see what version yours supports, you can go here http://www.realtech-vr.com/glview/download.html, choose your OS and download the program.

well i wasn't asking for the version an IGP works on , i was asking what features the opengl plugin uses that makes an IGP not be a choice .
also i asked about the DX plugin because of the IGP thing (i need just because opengl 2.1 isn't fully supported on the IGP), so if it's not worked much on then i could try to help (too bad the zelda sound doesn't work ) |
