Getting a new Mobo/CPU combo. How will it affect my Dolphin performance?

I'm currently at a Q6600. 2.4Ghz, not the best out there. I know to go over 3.0ghz for Dolphin. I'm looking at this:

Is that going to really improve my speed? In games like Super Mario Galaxy? And Twilight Princess (GCN)? And what about LLE performance, or will I be stuck in HLE? Not that HLE has done much wrong for me. I simply want to be able to play Twilight Princess (without the Wii's control scheme, as that's the version I own.)

I also want to play Dragon Quest VIII Tongue

But that's the wrong forum!! So anyway, how's it look?

Edit: For when it's mentioned, my GPU will be staying the same for the time being. It's an old Radeon 4850

The i5-2500k is the ideal processor right now, overclock it a bit and you're good to go for almost anything.

I second SS.

And a 4850 is fine for dolphin. Enough for 3x IR in all games and 4x IR in most games.

If I get the unlocked one, how would I make sure that upping the speed on it would be stable? I don't have any thermometers in my case or whatever, I do have a giant aftermarket heat sink though.

Test it with stress testing software (prime95 or intel burn test for example). You can use software like realtemp to check your temperatures. Also make sure that your aftermarket cooler will work with the new LGA1155 socket. If it doesn't check if you can get a bracket for LGA1155 for your cooler. If you cannot then you will have to buy a new cooler.
