Hi, I just started using Dolphin and I have some questions:

1) I would like to know what are the differences between builds made from different people. Is it always better to use the latest one? I saw that there are some SSE optimized builds which should give me more perfomance (my CPU has SSE2, 3 and SSSE3).

2) I'm playing Super Mario Sunshine but I have some problems:
the audio sometimes has some crackling sound (I don't know exactly how to describe it Tongue), it happens rarely though and only for 1 second. I saw that the game is classified as 'Perfect', so is it my problem or it is considered 'Perfect' even though it has this small audio problem? How can I resolve it?
Instead the video is fine, even though the videos (like the one you see when starting a new game) look bad, is this normal?

3) It is suggested to use the option "Copy EFB to RAM" with Super Mario Sunshine. I have read that usually it's better to have "Copy EFB to Texture", so I thought of changing the option only in the properties of the game but it's not there, how come? Why does it work fine even though I'm not using this option?

4) I saw that there isn't the correct aspect ratio in the options (16:10) so I put it to "Stretch to Window, is this correct? The "Widescreen Hack" makes a double image of everthing in Super Mario Sunshine, without it the image is very large because of the wrong aspect ratio (I think), how can play the best way in fullscreen at 1680x1050?

5) Could you suggest me a good keyboard layout to use GC games? I'm using the arrow keys + some letters on the left (like WASD) but I don't seem to find a comfortable layout. Sad

6) Most of the options are clear and the ones that aren't I can enable/disable them to see the difference in game. But there are other options that don't seem to change anything, is there a detailed guide to each option and what it does?

My PC:
Windows 7 64-bit
Intel Core 2 Duo e5200@3325MHz
ATI HD 5770
RAM 2GB DDR2 @800MHz
Build r6228 (mamario)
Monitor 22" 1680x1050 (16:10)
The DirectX (9 and 11) is updated, I'm using the latest ATI drivers (10.9) and have the latest Microsoft Visual C++.

Thanks and sorry for the bad English. Smile

1)Builds from differrent people may contain some unofficial patches to improve some stuff, these are usually stated in their post, many of the great patches has been officially included though, not many noteworthy ones right now. The latest builds aren't always better, since some stuff can get broken or slowed dowen, but they usually are

2)I had a problem like that a REALLY long time ago, unless you are using an ancient build, I don't know why

3)Copy EFB EFB to RAM is for the oil/goo/dirt, which will not get properly washed away without it, (you also need to disable bi/trilinear filtering). The reason EFB to texture is reccomended is that it's faster for many games.

4)The best was is to use strech, as the gamecube doesn't support widescreen. The hack only works on some games without screwing things up.

5)I'd put the joypad to 1235, R button to 0 (on the right side) X = A, C = B, A = L, Z = Z, left shift = half press, enter = start. C-stick to the arrow keys.

6) See the thread for each games for reccomended configurations, unless the game specifically needs something, it doesn't make a difference if you activate it or not. Some things are slower for some games. "Use Dlist Caching" is an exception, it makes things faster, but can cause graphical glitches.

Ok, thanks. I will ask in the Super Mario Sunshine thread for further help. Smile
