Hello everyone, at the beginning I should mention that I'm a newbie if it comes to GCN/WII emulation so please be polite about my lack of knowledge. : )
I recently got the 5930 svn and decied to play around with GCN emulation problem is I cant run pretty much anything with stable framerate.
I wen't trough countless topic about configuration yet nothing seem to help me (yet those videos taunt me with butter smooth 60 fps T_T).
So I'll start with my settings and the games I tried to run and what results I got.
Alien Homind - This is a 100% 60 fps no issues what so ever
Baldurs Gate: DA - 40/45 FPS but no spikes
Bloody Roar: PF - this is where the problems start, whenever I change the character in the select scree or whenever something NEW shows up on the screen the game will just stop for a moment (I do realize it has something to do with cashe but it happens almost every time whenever I load the game again, especially the super moves), also the resolution set seem to have no effect on it, it's all pixelated no matter what.
Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex - same story, lags whenever loading new area and is slow overall.
Geist - barely playable because of lag spikes
Metroid Prime 1 and 2 - This is the worst case, it will randomly lag so offten it become unplayable (going from 60 to 0)

I'm pretty sure my PC should handle this, especially in 720p (though 1080p is desired).
PS. Back in the day I did try some older Dolphin with Bloody Roar 3 and Melee and it did work far better on worse PC.
PS2. I tried few games more but the results are always like wtih Bloody Roar PF (without the resolution problem)

Ok, lets see if i can help with this:
1) set framelimit to auto
2) Uncheck the "Enable CPU Clock Override"
3) Set Fullscreen resolution to auto
4) Set internal resolution to 1x, not auto
5) Switch the backend from D3D to OpenGL, as it is faster on Nvidia cards.
6) Make sure you have a high performance profile made for Dolphin in the Nvidia Control Panel, and Windows power management is set to high performance
7) What driver version for your GTX 770 are you on?
8) Check Windows update for any updates.

OpenGL helped a bit. About resolutions, I'm not really interested in playing in native res (that I have on my Gamecube). I'd rather config it to work on atleast 720p. In which lag spikes are still there (not as many though).

I say to go to original resolution just to see if the speed changes to get the games at fullspeed.
If yes, then that means there's something wrong with your GTX 770.
But if the speed does not change, then you have a CPU bottleneck. You CPU is equivalent to a 3rd gen i7 at 3.3 GHz. Dolphin will only use 2 of the CPU cores though, one for the emulated CPU and one for the emulated GPU. But you should be reaching way closer to fullspeed though on those games.

Seem like openGL did the trick even for HD but Bloody Roar still gets spikes every now and then, like when doing a super move. Like it strugles to load it more than display it.

I had something similar happen. What fixed it for me was going into the log configuration page and disabling the video logs.

Try that suggestion from Koestu

Now, if you go back and play the same spot again, do those lag spikes still occur?

I can't seem to find that option in log config (log types were all unchecked if thats the case)
