I'm currently trying to get my Gamecube controller to work with Dolphin, but am not having any luck. It worked just fine on my older computer, but I'm having nothing but problems on the new one. I'm connected with an adapter, and while the controller is recognized and it reads my button inputs, it doesn't actually save anything. Here's exactly what happens:
When I hit GCpad, and go to the Device dropdown, there's both a DInput and SDL option for my controller. Regardless of what I select, the box will go blank and I need to hit refresh for it to appear. After that, I can set up every control with no problem, though if I try to save the profile it won't allow me to load it later. I hit ok, got to play a game, and.... Nothing. The controller won't work. I go back to check the GCPad settings and find that it has defaulted back to keyboard/mouse and didn't save any of my changes.
I'm currently using 3.0.735 (64x), and when I tried going back to an older version, I had a different issue. This time, it would remember my settings, but would not read my Analog stick properly. It would just ignore all movements except for one misread direction (e.g. if I held left, it would go up. No other direction would work). Anyone know what's going on?
